Converting Measurements word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this converting measurements puzzle set for my 4th graders during our math unit. The kids could measure in one unit but had no idea how to change inches to feet or cups to pints. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like convert, conversion, multiply, divide, bigger unit, smaller unit, inch to foot, foot to yard, ounce to pound, cup to pint, pint to quart, quart to gallon, centimeter to meter, and liter to milliliter. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the conversion process finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether you multiply or divide when going from a bigger unit to a smaller unit. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple arrow and equal sign drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers convert 3 feet to inches on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
