Cuba Quiz Bank | 38 Questions | Canvas, Forms, Blooket, Kahoot

About This Product
One purchase gives you this Cuba Quiz Bank in every format in the table below, so you stop rebuilding the same quiz for each platform.
Grades 6-12.
Media: 10 of the 38 questions carry a photo. Context photos travel with their questions in the QTI, Moodle, and printable versions. Photos that picture an answer appear only as feedback after a student answers (and in the printed answer key). The game files and the Google Forms version are text only.
Some platforms limit import or assignment features by plan; check yours before purchase.

ABOUT THIS BANK
This Cuba bank gives you 38 ready to grade questions for a Caribbean country study: the Greater Antilles and the crocodile-shaped island, the 90 miles of water between Cuba and Florida, Havana with its Malecon, Capitolio, and classic cars, the bee hummingbird (the smallest bird in the world, about 5 centimeters), the tocororo in the flag's own colors, the mogotes of Vinales, nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Valley of the Sugar Mills, the fortress of San Pedro de la Roca, ropa vieja and the cafecito, Habanos cigars, the music that made Cuba famous (mambo, rumba, cha-cha-cha, and why flamenco does not belong), baseball and 244 Olympic medals, the Taino, Jose Marti, and the Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre. Every stem is bilingual, so Spanish 1 students can work it while Spanish 2 students read the Spanish first. It works as a unit quiz, a graded assessment, a review game, or a sub day plan.
Every question carries a one sentence explanation, printed in the answer key and carried into the formats that show feedback, so a miss teaches something on the spot.
Skills practiced: geography: the Greater Antilles, the largest island in the Caribbean, the 90 miles to Florida, Isla de la Juventud, Pico Turquino, and the crocodile shape (questions 1 to 6); Havana: the capital, the Malecon, the Capitolio, Old Havana (7 to 10); nature and climate: the tropical climate, diverse flora and fauna, the bee hummingbird and its size, the tocororo, Vinales, and the terrain (11 to 16, 30); heritage: the nine UNESCO sites, the Valley of the Sugar Mills, Santiago de Cuba, and San Pedro de la Roca (17 to 20); food and drink: ropa vieja, the cafecito, Habanos (21 to 23); music and daily culture: Cuba's famous music, why flamenco does not belong, the Casa de la Musica (24 to 26); sports and beaches: baseball, the Olympic medal count, Varadero (27 to 29); and history, language, money, population, and faith: the Taino, Jose Marti, 1898, Spanish, the peso cubano, about 10 million people, and the Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre (31 to 38).
THE SPANISH IN THIS BANK
Every stem is printed in Spanish with its English translation right beside it, and phrase-length choices carry English glosses; proper nouns and numbers stand on their own. Students can answer from the English alone, and the Spanish is real reading practice at the same time, which is exactly the support the level gate asks for at Spanish 1 and 2.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to type the questions in? No. Every format in this download is ready to import or print as it stands. The Google Forms version gives you the live copy link inside the download and prints every question with its key, points, and feedback so you can check your copy line by line.
How do I use this in Google Classroom if Classroom takes no QTI? Use the Google Forms version: open the copy link printed on page 1 of the Forms file in this download, choose Make a copy, then attach your copy to a Classroom assignment. The Teacher Guide, Section 5, walks through copying, assigning, closing the form on schedule, and reading results.
What if my platform is not in the table? Start with the QTI file: it is the standard question format that most learning management systems import. One exception worth knowing: Moodle does not take QTI, which is why this download carries a separate Moodle XML file.
Why do some questions show their photo only in the answer key? A photo that pictures the answer would give the question away, so those photos ride as feedback: students see them right after they answer, with the explanation.
Can I split the bank into shorter quizzes? Yes. The QTI and Moodle files import as one bank, and every platform here lets you build shorter quizzes from selected questions after import.
