Saber vs. Conocer Quiz Bank | 30 Questions | Canvas, Forms, Blooket

About This Product
One bank, ready for the platforms in the table below. One purchase gives you this Saber vs. Conocer Quiz Bank in every format in the table, so you stop rebuilding the same quiz for each platform.
Grades 6-12.
Media: 10 of the 30 questions carry a photo. Context photos travel with their questions in the QTI, Moodle, and printable versions. Photos that picture an answer appear only as feedback after a student answers (and in the printed answer key). The game files and the Google Forms version are text only.
Some platforms limit import or assignment features by account plan, so check yours before purchase.

ABOUT THIS BANK
This Saber vs. Conocer bank gives you 30 ready to grade questions on the pair of verbs Spanish 1 and 2 students mix up most. Saber carries facts, information, and know-how (sé la respuesta, sabemos tocar la guitarra); conocer carries people, places, and familiarity (conozco a tu mamá, conocen Quito). The bank opens with the two paradigms in real sentences, tests the personal a directly, and closes with a ten-item contrast block where both verbs sit in the same sentence and only the meaning can pick the answer. Every stem is a complete sentence or a two-line dialogue, so students choose in context, never from a chart. It works as a unit quiz, a review game, or a sub day assessment.
Every question carries a one sentence explanation, printed in the answer key and carried into the formats that show feedback, so a miss teaches something on the spot. The question content was panel audited before release for factual accuracy, answer key integrity, and answer pattern quality.
Skills practiced: the sé and conozco paradigms in context (questions 1, 5, 10, 15, and 20, and every other item through its verb form); saber for facts and information asked with cuándo or a qué hora (5, 6, 13, 19); saber plus an infinitive for skills (2, 8, 12, 18); conocer for people, places, and familiarity, with the personal a tested directly in questions 7 and 14 and modeled throughout (3, 7, 11, 14, 17); saber plus que and question-word clauses (4, 9, 10, 16); and a ten-item contrast block where saber and conocer compete inside one sentence and only the meaning decides (21 to 30).
THE SPANISH IN THIS BANK
The bank follows universal Spanish. Questions 3 and 8 use vosotros forms (conocéis, sabéis) exactly where the paradigm calls for them, and every other item works in any variety. Two level supports are built into the stems: vecino is glossed in question 16 and mochila in question 9. The explanations teach the usual selection pattern (saber for facts and skills, conocer for people, places, and familiarity) and name the personal a before a definite human direct object, including the a plus el contraction in question 14.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to type the questions in? No. Every format in this download is ready to import or print as it stands. The Google Forms version gives you the live copy link inside the download and prints every question with its key, points, and feedback so you can check your copy line by line.
How do I use this in Google Classroom if Classroom takes no QTI? Use the Google Forms version: open the copy link printed on page 1 of the Forms file in this download, choose Make a copy, then attach your copy to a Classroom assignment. The Teacher Guide, Section 5, walks through copying, assigning, closing the form on schedule, and reading results.
What if my platform is not in the table? Start with the QTI file: it is the standard question format that most learning management systems import. One exception worth knowing: Moodle does not take QTI, which is why this download carries a separate Moodle XML file. And the printable PDF works everywhere paper does.
Why do some questions show their photo only in the answer key? A photo that pictures the answer would give the question away, so those photos ride as feedback: students see them right after they answer, with the explanation, in the versions that support feedback media.
Can I split the bank into shorter quizzes? Yes. The QTI and Moodle files import as one bank, and every platform here lets you build shorter quizzes from selected questions after import.
ACTFL connection: This resource is aligned with the ACTFL World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages and the Novice High Can-Do statements for interpretive communication. Students interpret short sentences and questions and show they can choose saber or conocer correctly for facts, information, and skills with saber, and for people, places, and familiarity with conocer.
