About This Product

One bank, ready for the platforms in the table below. One purchase gives you this Telling Time and Schedules Quiz Bank in every format in the table, so you stop rebuilding the same quiz for each platform.

Grades 6-12.

Media: 10 of the 30 questions carry a photo. Context photos travel with their questions in the QTI, Moodle, and printable versions. Photos that picture an answer appear only as feedback after a student answers (and in the printed answer key). The game files and the Google Forms version are text only.

Some platforms limit import or assignment features by account plan, so check yours before purchase.

WILL IT WORK ON YOUR PLATFORM?

- Canvas (New Quizzes): QTI file. Import tested live on November 1, 2026 with this bank: 30 of 30 questions, keys, points, feedback, and media verified in Canvas New Quizzes. Import path: build a New Quiz, then More Quiz Actions, then Import Content

- Canvas (Classic Quizzes): QTI file. Documented import path (not import tested by EduLingo on Classic Quizzes): Settings, Import Course Content

The form copy is text only; the media lives in the QTI, Moodle, and printable versions

ABOUT THIS BANK

This Telling Time and Schedules bank gives you 30 ready to grade questions for the la hora unit, the first thing Spanish 1 students want to say and the thing they keep missing on quizzes. It opens with hours and half hours, where es la una splits from son las, moves through y cuarto and menos cuarto and minutes with y, and lands on the two words students confuse all year, mediodía and medianoche. The back half reads a real class schedule, the Horario de Ana, and then drills the distinction between ¿Qué hora es? and ¿A qué hora es?, clock time against event time, across seven items. Clock faces and the schedule table are pictured on ten items. Use it as a graded unit test or quiz (the Canvas, Moodle, and Forms versions grade it for you, and the printable carries a full explained key), a review game, or a sub day assessment.

Every question carries a one sentence explanation, printed in the answer key and carried into the formats that show feedback, so a miss teaches something on the spot. The question content was panel audited before release for factual accuracy, answer key integrity, and answer pattern quality.

Skills practiced: on the hour and half hour with es la una versus son las (questions 1 to 5 and 8); quarter hours with y cuarto and menos cuarto (6 to 9); minutes after the hour with y (10 to 12); mediodía and medianoche (13, 14); en punto (15, 16); de la mañana, de la tarde, and de la noche in context (17 to 19); reading a simple class schedule, the Horario de Ana (20 to 24); and the a qué hora es versus qué hora es contrast (23 and 25 to 30).

THE SPANISH IN THIS BANK

Every stem is a complete Spanish sentence or question, and the times in the clock items are printed in digits inside the stem, so no item depends on reading the pictured clock. Level supports are built into the stems as first-use glosses: ahora (now) in question 4, media (half) in 2, cuarto (quarter) in 6, menos (minus) in 7, en números (in numbers) in 9, termina (ends) in 14, en punto (on the dot) in 15, temprano (early) in 17, veo, película, and cena in 18, almuerzo in 19 and 20, horario and recreo in 20, partido (game) in 27, and fiesta (party) in 29. Usage follows universal Spanish; the one regional note is taught honestly in question 7, where the explanation says that in several Latin American countries people also say un cuarto para las seis for 5:45.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to type the questions in? No. Every format in this download is ready to import or print as it stands. The Google Forms version gives you the live copy link inside the download and prints every question with its key, points, and feedback so you can check your copy line by line.

How do I use this in Google Classroom if Classroom takes no QTI? Use the Google Forms version: open the copy link printed on page 1 of the Forms file in this download, choose Make a copy, then attach your copy to a Classroom assignment. The Teacher Guide, Section 5, walks through copying, assigning, closing the form on schedule, and reading results.

What if my platform is not in the table? Start with the QTI file: it is the standard question format that most learning management systems import. One exception worth knowing: Moodle does not take QTI, which is why this download carries a separate Moodle XML file. And the printable PDF works everywhere paper does.

Why do some questions show their photo only in the answer key? A photo that pictures the answer would give the question away, so those photos ride as feedback: students see them right after they answer, with the explanation, in the versions that support feedback media.

Can I split the bank into shorter quizzes? Yes. The QTI and Moodle files import as one bank, and every platform here lets you build shorter quizzes from selected questions after import.

ACTFL connection: This resource is aligned with the ACTFL World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages and the Novice Mid Can-Do statements for interpretive communication. Students interpret clock times and a simple class schedule and show they can tell time on the hour, at half and quarter hours, and in minutes, use mediodía and medianoche, and tell clock time apart from the time an event happens.
