I am happy to introduce my Month of January DIY Handprint Calendar and Poem! This fun and simple to complete Calendar Activity is an excellent educational resource for children from toddlers in a daycare, Early Childhood Education or childcare program to preschool centers, to pre-k and Kindergarten classrooms to school aged students in grade 1-2. Students will be excited to use their own handprints to celebrate January and learn to recite the cute January handprint poem.
Featuring a January Calendar page and January Handprint Craft Page with handprint poem, children will be excited to create their own calendar! Students will decorate their Winter colouring page with their handprints over the mittens. Then they can colour in the rest of the colouring page to complete.

- Practice fine-motor tracing and colouring skills by tracing a handprint onto the mitten outline and decorating it
- Record dates and events on a blank monthly calendar grid to build familiarity with days of the week and the calendar structure

- Have students trace their handprint onto the mitten outline in pencil before colouring so the artwork is personalised
- Read the poem aloud as a whole-class opener before handing out the colouring page
- Use the blank calendar grid as a January morning-meeting job, adding one date each day rather than filling it in all at once
- Print the A4 version for classrooms outside the US/Canada instead of rescaling the 8x10 file, since both are included

Do the 8x10 and A4 files contain different designs, or just different paper sizes of the same design?
The same design — the file simply provides a US letter (8x10) version and an A4 version of the identical calendar and poem/mitten pages so it prints correctly in either paper standard.
