Food Chains word search, scramble and crossword

⭐I made this food chains puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our ecosystems unit. The kids understood the idea of who eats what but got bored writing the same definitions over and over. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like producer, consumer, predator, prey, herbivore, carnivore, omnivore, and decomposer. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to keep them thinking without whining.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is great for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they mix up "herbivore" and "carnivore" sometimes. The crossword I save for partners. I added a couple simple sun and grass drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a tiny food chain on the back using three words from any puzzle. The kids actually ask for these now.
