French Scrambled Sentences Exercise: ALLER, ÊTRE, AVOIR, FAIRE

Students will reorder scrambled French words into grammatically correct sentences using aller, être, avoir, and faire conjugated for all six subject pronouns.

Students will apply correct French word order to negated sentences (e.g., "Il a peur des chiens mais pas des chats") and question forms (e.g., "Combien de frères est-ce que tu as?").

Students will recognize and reconstruct idiomatic expressions built on these four verbs, such as avoir besoin de, avoir peur de, and faire du bricolage.

Work through one verb section at a time (Aller, Être, Avoir, Faire) rather than mixing all 24 items, since each section isolates one verb's conjugation pattern across all six pronouns.

Point out the idiomatic avoir expressions (avoir besoin de, avoir peur de, avoir froid/chaud, quel âge) before assigning the Avoir section, since these don't translate literally from English.

Have students check their sentence order against the Corrigé section, which is grouped by verb in the same order as the exercise.

Verb conjugation recognition — students identify the correct conjugated form of aller, être, avoir, or faire for a given subject pronoun while reordering each sentence.

French sentence word order — students apply subject-verb-object and negation (ne...pas) placement rules to assemble a grammatical sentence from scrambled tiles.
