Forty French sentences require students to decide whether the subjunctive or indicative mood is grammatically correct — for example, distinguishing 'Il est possible que...' (subjunctive-triggering) from 'Il est certain que...' (indicative-triggering) — and then write the bracketed verb in its correct conjugated form. A supporting one-page reference list organizes common subjunctive-triggering and indicative-triggering expressions into two columns for students to consult while working. A complete three-page answer key gives both the mood decision and the fully conjugated verb for all 40 sentences, with pronunciation notes on a couple of trickier forms (such as reminding students to pronounce both G's). For practice in a different format, the same irregular-verb subjunctive conjugations appear in a Connect-4 game of irregular present-subjunctive conjugations, where students fill boxes with the correct forms to win.
