Office Filing Work Task Box | ABC Order, Numbers + Dates | SPED

About This Product
Office Filing Work Task Box: a hands-on vocational work task box for high school special education, transition, and job skills programs. Students print, cut, and work through three levels on their own while you take accuracy data.
Why I made this: Filing comes up on almost every office placement, and it is usually the first job a supervisor hands a new worker. Students who can say the alphabet still get stuck on Baker and Banerjee, or on whether 3107 comes before 3170. This box slows those moments down. The Drawer Check cards came from real job sites, where finding a folder someone else put in the wrong place is part of the work, and telling the supervisor about it is too.
What's included:
• Level A: 12 folder cards to file by first letter into 4 drawers
• Level B: 24 folder cards to put in full ABC order by last name
• Level C: 24 cards (10 invoices, 10 dated forms, and 4 Drawer Check cards with a misfiled folder to find)
• 4 drawer labels for Level A and 2 drawer labels for Level C
• 1 Filing Rules page with an alphabet strip
• 1 Drawer Check recording sheet
• 3 practice pages, one for each level
• Answer key for every card and practice page
• Data sheet and a 10-session accuracy graph
• A plan for trying it for real at school, with a 5-item supervisor check
• Blank cards for each card type
How I use it: At Level A, students file folders into four drawer labels by the first letter of the last name. At Level B, they put 24 folders in full ABC order using the Filing Rules page. At Level C, they file invoices by number and forms by date, then find the misfiled folder on 4 Drawer Check cards. Students check their own work with the card codes (cover with tape if they peek), and you record accuracy and prompt level on the data sheet.
How this set is different from my Job Site Task Cards: My Office and Clerical Job Skills Task Cards cover filing, copies, and phone work as site procedure cards. This Work Task Box is the hands-on filing station: folder cards, drawer labels, a Filing Rules page, Drawer Check cards, self-check codes, and a data sheet. No procedure cards from the office task-card set are repeated.
Part of the Work Task Boxes series: one layout across every job, three levels (A match, B use a reference, C handle twists), self-check codes, blank cards for your own site, and a data sheet with a 10-session graph.
Who it is for: high school special education, transition programs for ages 18 to 21, vocational and CTE classes, job coaches, and work-based learning teams. Grades 9 to 12 and adult transition. Level A works for emerging readers within that band. The tasks look like real jobs, not preschool sorting. No clipart or photos are needed, so the cards stay simple and age-respectful.
What you download: one printable PDF, 25 pages, US Letter. Answer key included.
Real workplaces vary. Use the blank cards to match your building's rooms, names, codes, and supplies. Always follow the training and rules at the actual job site.
