⭐I made this dinosaur puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our fossils unit. The kids were obsessed with dinosaurs but could not sit still for vocabulary review. So I threw together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like T-rex, triceratops, velociraptor, stegosaurus, brachiosaurus, pterodactyl, and ankylosaurus. Nothing fancy — just puzzles that feel like a game instead of work.
The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works great for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them arguing over how to spell "pterodactyl" (that silent p always gets them). The crossword I use for partners. I added a few simple dinosaur footprints and bones but nothing too busy.
Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick their favorite dinosaur from any puzzle and draw it on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
