Vocational Skills Words word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this vocational skills puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our career exploration unit. The kids could name a few jobs but had no idea what words like skills, responsibilities, or teamwork meant when we talked about getting ready for work. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like skills, responsibilities, teamwork, punctuality, communication, problem solving, tasks, tools, workplace, and career. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocational vocabulary finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether being on time is a skill or just being polite. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple briefcase, clock, and handshake drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one skill they already have that would help them get a job on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
