Workplace Safety Words word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this workplace safety vocabulary puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our career exploration unit. The kids had heard of safety but had no idea what words like hazard, caution, or protect meant when we talked about staying safe on the job. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like safety, hazard, caution, protect, warning, sign, helmet, goggles, gloves, vest, walk, look, listen, report, and help. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the workplace safety vocabulary finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a hard hat is more important than safety goggles. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple hard hat, safety vest, and caution sign drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one workplace safety rule on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
