skip counting by 2s bingo - boards 6-10

Need a fun, engaging activity for practicing skip counting by 2 with your kiddos? This math bingo game is perfect for getting your students focused on skip counting in 2s! Preparation: Print and laminate enough Bingo Boards for each student to have one Optional: print, cut and laminate the Playing Squares Print, cut and laminate the Calling Cards. Lamination is optional, but recommended, as it will ensure that the game remains in good condition and can be used for many years to come! To avoid excessive printing and laminating, the Playing Squares could be replaced with other manipulatives such as buttons or counters. Alternatively, students could mark squares off on their Bingo Boards with dry erase markers and then simply clean the boards again after playing (provided that you have laminated the boards) How to Play: Each student needs a Bingo Board and at least 7 Playing Squares (or other manipulatives or a dry erase marker) Shuffle the Calling Cards and place them in a pile. Draw a Calling Card and call out and/or display the contents of the card. Each student looks on their Bingo Board for a block that matches the Calling Card. If they find one, they cover that block with a Playing Square. Draw a new Calling Card and repeat the process. The game continues until somebody wins. To win, a student must shout out “BINGO!” when they have covered three blocks in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). If the Calling Cards run out before anybody wins, simply shuffle them again and continue playing. Please note: Sometimes there may be more than one block on the Bingo Board that matches the Calling Card. The student may only cover one block on a turn. Once that turn is over, the Playing Square may not be moved to cover a different block. This resource includes 5 different bingo board, in colour as well as black and white. The play needs 5 different settings so it also encourages creative design and thought to manage the flow of the performance. Play Synopsis: Danny, his two sisters, and their friends discover a book in the attic. Upon reading it, they are whisked into various fairy tales. All this and lessons learned along the way… Come along into the Land of Oz, the forest with Snow White, the workshop of Geppetto and Pinocchio, and Neverland where kids never grow up. It was fun on the journey but the kids finally returned home with valuable lessons learned. But, Danny, please don’t start reading Volume II until another day! Thought Bubble Scenarios – Perspective Taking

Perspective Takingis a struggle for so many of my students. It can be a difficult social skill to learn and to teach. I wrote these THOUGHT BUBBLE SCENARIOS activities to help my students practice a wide variety of common social scenarios that I saw them experiencing every day. This product includes 4 fun and leveled activities that teach children the very important social skill of considering how their behavior affects others around them. Activity 1Includes to levels, Level 1: K-2 with 20 scenario cards and Level 2: 3rd-5th with 30 scenario cards of common situations. These scenarios prompt children to think about how others may feel in the given situations. This is a helpful way to start thinking about how behavior affects others. By looking at scenarios of other people, children are not explicitly talking about thier own actions. These scenarios can be discussed and or role played for lots of fun and multiple lessons. Pick and chose the scenarios that best fit your students and use theEDITABLEcards to easily make your own as needed. Activity 2Includes individual thought bubbles and matching heart shapes for children to use to discuss what THEY would think and feel in the given scenarios. Now we are getting a little more personal and discussing our own thoughts and feelings about other's actions. Activity 3Children make the connection between their actions and their thoughts AND their actions and other people's thoughts. Activity 4Pulls it all together by getting children to consider how their actions affect the thoughts and feelings of others. Using a simple worksheet type flow chart, children can think about how their actions may affect the way others around them think and feel. This is a great worksheet to use for BOTH negative and positive behaviors. We want to encourage and teach about positive behaviors and not only focus on the negative.

Prefix Over Sentence Reading Rings

Practice reading words with the prefix OVER- with these sentence reading rings. Students will read words with the prefix over- in the context of sentences. Each card also includes a bold and colorful image to illustrate each sentence and to help students to learn the meanings of each word. What is Included: This resource includes one reading ring activity for the prefix over. There are cards each featuring a different word with the prefix non, with a sentence using the word in context and an image to illustrate that sentence. When to Use Early Finishers - If students finish their work early, they can use these reading rings for extra practice. Small Group Work - Teachers can use these reading rings to target small groups of students who need more practice reading words with prefixes. Independent Practice - Students can work independently at their desks to read this set of prefix cards. Morning Work - Students can read and review this reading ring for morning work as their classmates arrive to class. How to Make: Teachers will print out the pages and cut each card apart. Once cut apart, the teacher can choose to laminate the cards for durability. Then, use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top left corner of the card. Place the cards on a ring to create your reading ring, making sure the cover card is on top. Skills Assessed: These reading rings help with identifying words with prefixes These reading rings help with learning the meaning of prefixes These reading rings help students learn how prefixes change the meaning of words. These affixes reading rings are a low prep activity for teachers to prepare for students to use. This downloadable PDF is an educational activity that involves sorting non-identical animals. Why we teach sorting and grouping - Sorting and grouping are important skills for young children to learn because they lay the foundation for many other important academic and life skills. Sorting and grouping involve categorizing objects based on common attributes such as color, shape, size, and function. These skills help children to understand and make sense of the world around them. This activity begins by presenting the learner with two large cards, one depicting a dog and the other a cat, to introduce the two animal categories. Then, the learner is given 12 smaller cards, 6 with different pictures of a dog and 6 with different pictures of a cat. The task is to sort the smaller cards into two piles, one for dogs and the other for cats, based on the animal depicted in the picture. The learner is encouraged to observe and compare the pictures to identify the distinguishing features of each animal and group them accordingly. As the learner progresses, the activity can be made more challenging by introducing pictures of animals that are similar such as a horse and a cow, to test their ability to differentiate between similar but unrelated objects. This activity can be used to promote several learning outcomes- visual discrimination classification critical thinking skills It is also a fun and engaging way for learners to explore and learn about different types of animals while practicing essential cognitive skills. This activity was created to be an activity book. However, feel free to print and create to fit your needs. This is a ten-page book with twenty different animals to sort.
