Are you looking for fun activities for practicing number recognition? These pixel art worksheets are perfect for getting your students to practice number identification for the number 5! Different options for how to use this resource: Cut and paste You can choose to print the colour square pages on white paper. -This is the simplest option, but it will take a lot of colour ink. Or you can choose to print the black line squares pages on colour paper. -This will use a lot less ink, but it will take a little more work to prepare. -You may struggle to find colour paper in all the colours I have used. If you have a problem finding the right colours, you can generally substitute a different colour if you need to. Simply look at the answer key to see what the pictures are and choose an appropriate substitute colour. Colour by number You will only need to print the worksheets and allow the students to colour the squares themselves. Preparation: Worksheets 3 printing options: 1. Full colour - best if you will be able to use all the same colours that I have used. 2. Partial colour – I have left the colours blank. You will need to tell your students what colours to use for each number before they can start the activity . If there is one thing we can count on young learners to absolutely love, it would be animals! From a very young age, many young children strike an interest in animals of all kinds. We know that incorporating interests in our lessons can increase student engagement. There are many ways to incorporate animals into learning! This is an Animal Dominoes Game. There are 3 pages included. There are 10 dominoes on each page, so there are 30 dominoes in all. You will print these pages on card stock and laminate them for durability before cutting them out. Just like the classic game of dominoes, students will work to match up a pair of equal dominoes. This can be played in partners or in small groups of 3-4 students. Skills practiced with this game: --Finding the total (as students will have to count the total number of animals to ensure they have an equal pair) --Animal identification --Animal names --Counting Because there is counting and totals involved, this makes a great math center or a math small group activity. You can use these as a matching center , during independent practice or small groups. I personally use these with my toddler's and they love it! Such as easy activity to do at the table, in the car, or when we go out to eat. When you download this resource, you will receive a PDF file. Included in the file are three Spring-themed matching mats In order to prep these mats, all you need to do is print, laminate, cut and bind! If you don't want this to be a reusable activity, you can always print and have students cut & paste the matching pieces. Ask your students to take each of the matching pieces off of the mat. Sort/Group Non-Identical objects - early learner activity

The activity involves sorting and grouping different non-identical items, which can be used to develop cognitive skills such as categorization, visual discrimination, and problem-solving. To begin the activity , the learner is presented with a sorting picture. Pictures include in this activity : dog doughnut ice cream bar apple shoes chair butterfly hotdog car rabbit socks happy face The next step is to provide the learner with six corresponding sorting cards, each picture non identical to the sorting picture. The items on the sorting cards may vary in color, size, shape, and other attributes, which allows the learner to practice visual discrimination and identify key characteristics of each category. The learner's task is to sort/group each individual sorting card to the correct sorting picture. This requires the learner to analyze and compare the different items, and determine which picture they belong to based on their similarities and differences. As the learner progresses through the activity , they can be challenged to group the items in different ways, such as by color, size, shape, or texture. This encourages the learner to think creatively and develop flexible thinking skills. This early learning sorting activity provides an engaging and interactive way to develop cognitive skills and promote learning in a fun and playful manner. This activity is easy to create and is clean and clear of visual distractions which allows the learner to focus on the task at hand. First print and laminate all cards, then cut out the individual sorting cards and velcro to the corresponding picture activity mat. If have a coil binder you can coil bind this activity , or else you can three hole punch the mats and put them in a binder or use binding rings for many years of teaching and learning.
