3rd Grade Division – Arrays & Equal Groups

3rd Grade Division – Arrays & Equal Groups
Math, Multiplication and Division, Multiplication, Grade 3, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

The introduction of multiplication in 3rd grade marks an important milestone in a child's mathematical development. Students transition from relying solely on counting strategies to understanding the relationship between repeated addition and multiplication. The resource covering "Multiplication with Groups, Arrays, and Repeated Addition - 3rd Grade" can be downloaded from here The next logical step afterwards is to approach the introduction of division in the same way, with visual support using Arrays and equal groupings. In fact by doing it this way, students will also get to see the connection between multiplication and division. Because division is the inverse, or “opposite,” of multiplication, Arrays help students understand how multiplication and division are related. For multiplication we want the product of two factors, in division are looking for a missing factor once you are given the other factor and the product, or in division terms a divisor and the dividend. Making their own arrays reinforces this relationship. Building arrays helps students see and think about the connection between the dividend, divisor and quotient and the building of the division equation. Grouping objects into equal sets reinforces the understanding of division as splitting into equal parts. Students learn that the total number of objects, the number of groups and number of items in each group can be connected and again expressed in a much more concise way with a division equation. For each of the methods above there are multiple levels of differentiation to choose from which are detailed in the accompanying Guide when you download this resource You can select from different ranges of numbers. You can select the amount of information your students are given before the actual building of the division equation. This means you have a wide range of worksheets to choose from that will allow you to set the level and pace of development according to the needs of your students. In fact you have 16 sets at your disposal. Remember also that your students can repeat a level more than once. There are 16 sets of worksheets which feature a randomization button. With a single click, educators can generate an entirely new set of questions, making it a renewable resource for the entire school year. Be it for classwork, revision, or homework, the adaptability ensures students achieve proficiency in the topic. Sometimes it can be difficult to explain to pupils exactly what they need to do on a worksheet. However, as you can change the questions instantly with a click of the button, you can show your students a worksheet on a whiteboard which will be different to the one you have given them. Each worksheet concludes with an automatically generated answer key on its second page, offering a quick reference point for educators. And if there's ever a need for a last-minute lesson or work for a substitute teacher, these sheets are a reliable fallback. Lastly, it's essential to note that these resources are compatible PDF documents. They operate seamlessly with the official Adobe Acrobat Reader on both Windows and Mac. Plus, the randomizing features are effortlessly accessible via touchscreen devices or interactive whiteboards.

TRACINT ALPHABET LETTERS - Dinosaur Theme
ELA, Writing, Handwriting, Preschool, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

1. Brief introduction: Dinosaurs are always attractive to children, for this reason today I decided to create this fun resource for children to review the letters from A to Z, with a dinosaur theme. It should be noted that this material contains both uppercase and lowercase letters. According to a recent study, children tend to be interested in dinosaurs between the ages of 2 and 6. Furthermore, the study showed that children who tend to focus on dinosaurs are much more intelligent than the rest, because they pay more attention to them and develop other types of skills to be able to address this curious fixation. Infants can also master the names of up to 25 dinosaurs (which is often a challenge for an adult), however, they do master the full name, periods and even their classification. Children's brains are totally awesome! 2. Title of the pedagogical resource: "Letters from A to Z to review with the dinosaur theme" 3. Topic to work on: The letters from A to Z. 4. Area of knowledge where it should be applied: This resource can be applied in the area of literacy and language learning. 5. Number of pages contained: This pedagogical document contains 26 pages. 6. Is it available in color or white/black? It is available in colors, so that it is much more striking. 7. What version is it available in? It is in PDF version, so that it is much easier and more direct to print. 8. Editable/Not editable: It is not editable. 9. In this lesson, students will raise their awareness of drug and alcohol addiction. There is a link to a great article called Understanding Addiction that is for a group to take parts of the article and read, then share out-this is called Jigsaw reading . There are links to 2 really engaging videos, one is an animated video about the effects of addiction. The other one explains the swiss cheese theory. Links to the videos are embedded in the pictures on the slides. When the PPT is in slideshow mode, you will be redirected to the video. The link for the article is in the slide notes on slide 4. The other links are embedded in slide 2 and 6. The Powerpoint will guide your lesson. This is very low prep. You can print out the article for each group or have students access the article online. The article covers the difference between substance abuse and addiction, what is physical addiction, what is psychological addiction, signs of addiction, helping someone you know who may be addicted and the steps for recovering from addiction. This is best for grades eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth. As a Physical education teacher, health teacher, school counselor or other type of health and wellness teacher, this lesson will be an engaging one for your students. The Powerpoint begins with the video called "Nuggets" and after there are discussion questions you can pose to partners, groups or whole class. The next activity is reading the article and dividing the article points among group members. Then the whole class can unpack the key aspects of the article. The next activity is a video on the Swiss Cheese Analogy in which students will learn about different risk factors for becoming addicted. NUMBER PUZZLES 1 TO 5 - Vegetable Theme
Math, Numbers, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, Activities, Games

Puzzles are very educational tools for children, due to the multiple benefits they provide us. Among them we can name the following: A. They are a source of mental exercise, because they exercise both the right and left hemispheres. Additionally, when you do a puzzle, you activate both sides of the brain, thus increasing your cognitive function. This in turn will help prevent long-term cognitive decline. B. Improving visual-spatial reasoning: By placing the pieces within a larger image, students develop their spatial reasoning. C. Increased IQ: Researchers have found that solving puzzles or riddles helps raise IQ by up to 4 points. D. Improving problem-solving skills: When solving these puzzles, children take different options or solution approaches, generally carrying out the trial-error process. Thus they learn to formulate theories, test hypotheses and even change perspectives, although they do all this in microseconds. All of this will help them have or encourage more critical thinking and improve their ability to adapt. 1. Product name: "Puzzle of numbers from 1 to 5, with a vegetable theme" 2. Page number: This document contains 10 pages. 3. Is it editable or not? It is not editable, it is ready to be printed. 4.
