Subject and Predicate word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Subject and Predicate word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Subject and Predicate word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this subject and predicate puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our grammar unit. The kids could write a sentence but had no idea what the naming part or the telling part was called. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like subject, predicate, naming part, telling part, who, what, action, complete sentence, simple subject, simple predicate, noun, verb, and sentence fragment. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the sentence parts finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a sentence can have more than one subject. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple stick figure and action arrow drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers underline the subject and circle the predicate in a sentence on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Technology Vocabulary for Beginners word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this technology vocabulary puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our computer lab unit. The kids could use a tablet but had no idea what words like screen, mouse, or keyboard meant when we talked about parts of a computer. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like computer, tablet, screen, mouse, keyboard, click, type, save, open, close, and internet. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the technology vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a tablet is the same as a computer. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple computer, tablet, and mouse drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a computer and label its parts on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Getting Dressed Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this getting dressed vocabulary puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our daily life unit. The kids could get dressed but had no idea what words like shirt, pants, or buttons meant when we talked about clothing. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like shirt, pants, shoes, socks, dress, skirt, shorts, jacket, coat, hat, belt, zipper, buttons, and outfit. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the clothing vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a jacket and coat are the same thing. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple shirt, shoe, and hat drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw their favorite outfit on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
