Getting Dressed Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this getting dressed vocabulary puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our daily life unit. The kids could get dressed but had no idea what words like shirt, pants, or buttons meant when we talked about clothing. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like shirt, pants, shoes, socks, dress, skirt, shorts, jacket, coat, hat, belt, zipper, buttons, and outfit. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the clothing vocabulary finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a jacket and coat are the same thing. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple shirt, shoe, and hat drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw their favorite outfit on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
