Energy Types word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this energy types puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our physical science unit. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like kinetic, potential, thermal, light, sound, electrical, chemical, nuclear, mechanical, heat, motion, stored, transfer, convert, and renewable. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a battery has potential or kinetic energy. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple sun, lightning, and moving car drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list two examples of kinetic energy and two of potential energy on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Birds of North America word search, scramble and crossword ⭐I made this birds of North America puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our animal unit. We were supposed to be learning about local wildlife but the kids kept getting bored with the usual worksheets. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using birds like eagle, cardinal, blue jay, owl, hawk, robin, woodpecker, and crow. Nothing fancy — just simple puzzles to keep them engaged. ⭐The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is good for quiet time after lunch. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how to spell "woodpecker" or whether "blue jay" is one word or two. The crossword I save for partners. I added a couple tiny feather and nest drawings but nothing too busy.gets them talking because they fight over how to spell "woodpecker." The crossword I save for partners. I added a couple simple feather and beak drawings but nothing too distracting. ⭐Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to pick a bird and write one fact about it on the back. The kids actually like these.
