Christmas Number 0-30 Game – Printable Cards for Math Practice

Christmas Number Game – Printable Cards for Math Practice 0-30 I put this number game together for the last couple of weeks before winter break, mostly because I needed something that would get them practising numbers but also let them move and talk a little. The idea is really simple: they each get a card, and there’s one card in the middle — and the goal is to find the one number that both cards have in common. That’s it. No complicated rules, and they pick it up within seconds. What surprised me was how into it they got. Even the students who usually aren’t that focused during math were engaged. They were shouting out numbers, helping each other, and asking to play again. I’ve played it in pairs, small groups, even whole class with two teams — and it worked every time. The Christmas designs give it a nice seasonal feel, but it’s still clearly a math activity. The cards go from 0 to 30, and there are a few different versions you can print — I made round ones at first but ended up using the square version because it was quicker to cut. Some of my students struggled with number recognition at the start of the year, and I noticed that after a few rounds of this, they started to recognise the numbers faster. It’s a bit of sneaky learning — they just think they’re playing a game, but the repetition really helps. I usually print on regular paper, sometimes heavier paper if I want to reuse the set. It doesn’t take long to prep — I just cut the cards in the evening, put them in an envelope, and that’s it. It’s become one of my favourite December math go-tos because it keeps the class busy, learning, and having fun — without any chaos. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Fall French Domino Game – Numbers and Number Words 0–30
Holiday & Seasonal, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Math, Early Math, Numbers, Foreign Languages, French, Seasons, Fall, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards, Centers
🇫🇷 Fall French Domino Game Numbers and Number Words 0–30 This autumn domino game is designed to help students practice French numbers and number words from 0 up to 30. Because all the cards are written in French, learners get repeated exposure to the vocabulary in a natural way. I like using this activity during the fall months, when a seasonal theme adds a little extra motivation. The set contains 68 cards, divided into two versions. One set shows the standard number words, and the other uses syllable writing to make longer words easier to read. I have found that the syllable version is especially helpful for beginners who struggle with words like dix-sept or vingt-quatre . It allows them to read step by step and build confidence. The game can be played in different ways. Sometimes I use only the 0–10 cards to keep it simple, then extend to 0–20 or the full 0–30 as students progress. In small groups, we play competitively, with each student trying to use all of their cards first. With the whole class, I spread the cards on the floor so we can build one long chain together. Both versions encourage attention, speaking, and collaboration. The rules follow the classic domino format: players match a number with the correct number word, and the game ends when all cards have been placed or no moves remain. Students quickly understand the structure and enjoy the challenge of finding the right match. Preparation is straightforward. Print the cards, cut them apart, and laminate if you want to reuse them for several years. I store the different ranges (0–10, 0–20, 0–30) in separate envelopes so I can quickly choose the right set for the group I’m teaching. This resource works well in French immersion, dual language, or world language classrooms. It supports both math and literacy skills by combining number recognition, vocabulary, and reading fluency in a playful and social format. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? French Halloween Domino Game – Numbers 0–30 and Number Words

🇫🇷 Halloween French Number Domino Game Numbers and Number Words 0–30 This domino set offers a seasonal way to practice French numbers and number words from 0 to 30 . I first used it with a beginner French group in October, and it was a simple but effective way to bring some holiday spirit into the classroom while still focusing on vocabulary. The familiar domino format meant that students could understand the rules right away, so we could spend more time practicing the language and less time explaining. The resource includes two complete domino sets with 68 cards in total. The first version pairs numerals with the full French number words, while the second version shows the number words broken into syllables. This syllable version is especially helpful for early readers or for students who hesitate with longer words like dix-huit or vingt-neuf . I found that it gave them more confidence to read aloud without stumbling. You can adapt the game easily to different levels. For beginners, I often use only the 0–10 range. As students progress, I expand to 0–20 or 0–30. Having these built-in options makes it simple to differentiate within the same class. The game itself can be played at desks, in small groups, or even spread out on the floor if you want to give students more space and movement. Some groups like to race to finish the chain quickly, while others take a slower pace, checking each word as they go. Either way, students stay engaged and get repeated practice with the vocabulary. This activity works well in French immersion programs, FSL classes, or bilingual settings. It can be used as part of a math center with a language twist, for partner practice, or as a light seasonal activity during October. Preparation is minimal: just print the cards, cut them, and laminate if you want them to last for several years. Once prepared, they store easily in a small envelope or box for quick use in future lessons. The entire game is in French, with teacher instructions provided in English/French. Fall Spanish Domino Game – Numbers and Number Words 0–30
Holiday & Seasonal, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Math, Early Math, Numbers, Foreign Languages, Spanish, Seasons, Fall, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards, Centers
🇪🇸 Fall Spanish Domino Game Numbers and Number Words 0–30 This fall domino game gives students a playful way to practice Spanish numbers from 0 to 30. All the cards are written in Spanish, so learners get repeated exposure to both numerals and number words. I like to use it in the autumn when students are already excited about the season, and the game format makes the language practice feel natural. The set includes 68 domino cards. One version shows the standard number words, and the other breaks the words into syllables to support reading fluency. I found that the syllable version works especially well for students who hesitate with longer words like diecisiete or veinticuatro . It helps them read step by step and builds their confidence. The game can be adapted easily by number range. For beginners, I usually stop at 0–10, then expand to 0–20, and later play with the full 0–30 set. This flexibility means I can reuse the same cards throughout the year as the class progresses. Playing follows the familiar domino rules. The first card is placed in the middle, and each player takes turns matching a number with the correct number word. If a student cannot play, they pass until their next turn. The game ends when all cards have been used, or when no more moves are possible. Sometimes we play competitively to see who can finish first, and other times we work together to build the longest chain on the floor. Both versions keep students focused and engaged. Preparation is simple. Print the cards, cut them apart, and laminate if you want them to last for several years. I store each level—0–10, 0–20, 0–30—in separate envelopes so it’s quick to grab the right set for the group I’m teaching. This activity works well in dual language classrooms, Spanish immersion, and world language lessons. It supports number recognition, vocabulary, reading fluency, and teamwork, while adding just enough seasonal flavor to make practice feel special. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? Halloween Domino Game – Numbers 0–30 and Number Words
Holiday & Seasonal, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Halloween, Holidays, Math, Early Math, Numbers, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards
Halloween Domino Game – Numbers 0–30 and Number Words This Halloween domino set offers a seasonal way to practice both numbers and number words from 0 to 30. I started using it in October with my first graders, who were learning to connect written words with digits, and it quickly became a classroom favorite. The familiar domino format makes the rules easy to understand, so students can begin playing right away with very little explanation. The resource includes two full sets of domino cards, 68 pieces in total. The first set shows the standard number and number word pairings. The second set is designed with syllable-style breaks to support early readers who are still developing confidence with longer words. I have found that this version works well for students who struggle with spelling or for English language learners who need extra support with pronunciation. You can choose between different ranges depending on your group: 0–10 for beginners, 0–20 for more practice, or the full 0–30 for advanced learners. Having these options makes it easy to differentiate without preparing separate materials. In my classroom, the dominoes have been used in math centers, during small group rotations, and even spread out on the floor in the hallway for a more active lesson. Students enjoy the movement of placing down cards, and it gives them a sense of progress as the chain grows longer. The game also encourages collaboration, since they need to watch what others are playing and wait for their turn. Prep is straightforward: print the cards, cut them, and laminate if you plan to reuse them. Once the set is ready, it can be stored in a small box or envelope for quick access. This game is most useful in kindergarten and grade 1, but it can also serve as extra practice for students in grade 2 who need reinforcement with number words. It combines literacy and math in a simple activity that brings a little Halloween atmosphere into the lesson while staying focused on learning. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? Halloween Number Matching Game – Spot It Style Cards for Numbers 0–30
Holiday & Seasonal, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Halloween, Holidays, Math, Early Math, Numbers, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards
Halloween Number Matching Game – Spot It Style Cards for Numbers 0–30 This Halloween number game is designed in the style of “Spot It,” but with a focus on number recognition from 0 to 30 . I first tried it with a kindergarten group who were working on number sense and one-to-one matching, and it quickly became a favorite activity. The Halloween images give it a seasonal feel, but it stays simple enough for young learners to use without distraction. The set comes with 93 cards , divided into three full decks of 31 cards each. Every card shows six numbers, and any two cards always have exactly one number in common. Students compare their card with the one in the center pile and race to spot the matching number. The first to call it out keeps the card. Play continues until the pile is finished, and the player with the most cards wins. There are three versions of the cards included: round, square, and hexagonal. I usually prepare one laminated set to use in math centers, while keeping the printer-friendly square cards as a backup. The hexagonal cards are fun if you want to offer a different look, and they tend to spark extra interest. This game supports a range of early math skills. Students practice number recognition, visual scanning, and quick decision-making. In small groups, it also helps with social learning – taking turns, encouraging others, and coping with both winning and losing. For some of my ESL students, saying the numbers out loud during the game provided extra practice with pronunciation. It works well in centers, as a transition activity, or as an option for early finishers. The preparation is minimal: just print, cut, and, if you’d like, laminate for durability. Because the game can be played quickly, it fits easily into a short block of class time. Recommended for Pre-K, kindergarten, and grade 1, though older students might enjoy it as a light challenge. This resource combines the excitement of a Halloween theme with meaningful math practice, and it can be reused year after year. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know?
