Word Search puzzles are so much fun, and a great learning activity to add to your classroom. These word searches are themed, month to month, and are EDITABLE so that you can get a ton of use out of them and differentiate them for many learners. Use one of the blank word searches to write the words of your choice in the locations you wish. Next, delete the filler letters and add your words in the desired location on the editable word search. If you wish to change this word search from time to time, simply move the words around and scramble up the letters a bit. For older students, include forward, backward, diagonals, going up and down words. You may want to use some of the less common words from the suggested words list and or add your own that may be related to your curriculum. For younger or special groups of students, you may chose easier words and place them in easier locations such as left to right, on the end of the puzzle, or not sharing any letters(crossing over each other). These fun word searches are great to pull out each month to recognize the current holiday or season. Word searches are a wonderful way to expand vocabulary. Go through the word lists and make sure your students know what each word means. Another fun way to use these word searches is to have students make them for each other. Just give them a blank template and have them place their words first, then fill in the other boxes with miscellaneous letters. Be sure they keep track of their words.

This printable pdf has 6 word search puzzles about United States: US states: In this first puzzle, there are all 50 states. US state capitals: In the second word search puzzle, there are the state capitals, listed with the corresponding state. Other big cities: In this third word search, there are 46 cities of the United States that are not state capitals, like Dallas (Texas), San Francisco (California), Miami (Florida) and Baltimore (Maryland). Presidents: In this word search puzzle, there are names of all 45 US presidents up to Joe Biden (Grover Cleveland was in office two times but is one name in the list). In brackets are the years of service. Some rivers in US In this puzzle, there are names of some rivers like Red River, Snake River, Yukon River and Colorado River. Some national parks This word search has 35 names of national parks in the US. Some examples are Denali, Yellowstone, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountain and Great Smoky Mountains. States map On page 10, there is a map of states of the United States without any labels or text. Students can use this to name states to this map, or use it in other projects. States named On page 11, there is the same map of the US with states written in. This will serve as a solution to the map of the previous page, or students can also use it for projects, wallpapers etc. as it is. All answers are included. How to use: Words can be vertically, horizontally or diagonally. If there is a spacebar or - in the name, it is omitted in the word search. These word searches are best suitable for upper elementary or middle school students.

World Poetry Day Word Find (2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade): Activity Worksheet The World Poetry Day Word Find Worksheets provide students with a fun and creative way to learn about poetry and creative writing. This project is aimed at elementary students (grades 2-5) and is appropriate for teaching reading and language arts. The range of words included in the word find includes the following: "stanza" " rime" "ryme" etc. These words give students exposure to many different aspects of poetry, as they attempt to find them in a fun and interactive manner. Students can choose either the color or black and white version of the worksheet and color the page after they finish.
