Spanish Nature and Environment word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Spanish nature and environment puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our Spanish and science unit. The kids could name nature words in English but had no idea what words like árbol, río, or montaña meant when we started learning Spanish. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like árbol, río, montaña, mar, lago, cielo, tierra, flor, hoja, semilla, planta, sol, luna, estrella, lluvia, nieve, and viento. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Spanish nature vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "río" and "arroyo" are the same. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple tree, river, and sun drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write a Spanish nature word for something they saw outside today on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like United Nations, UN, peace, security, country, member, General Assembly, Security Council, secretary general, vote, treaty, human rights, New York, flag, and world. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess.
