Contractions word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Contractions word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Contractions word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this contractions puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our grammar unit. The kids knew how to say "don't" and "can't" but had no idea which words they came from or where the apostrophe went. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like don't, doesn't, didn't, can't, couldn't, wouldn't, shouldn't, won't, isn't, aren't, wasn't, weren't, I'm, you're, he's, she's, it's, we're, they're, I'll, you'll, he'll, she'll, we'll, they'll, I've, you've, we've, they've, and let's. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the contractions finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "won't" makes any sense from "will not." The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple apostrophe and smiley face drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the two words for each contraction on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Speed Velocity Acceleration word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this speed, velocity, and acceleration puzzle set for my 4th graders during our physical science unit. The kids knew fast and slow but had no idea that velocity includes direction or that acceleration isn't just speeding up. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like speed, velocity, acceleration, direction, fast, slow, change, constant, increase, decrease, meters per second, distance, time, slowing down, and turning. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the differences finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a car turning a corner is accelerating even if speed stays the same. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple car and arrow drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one sentence explaining how velocity is different from speed on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

National Honesty Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet

National Honesty Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

National Honesty Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity National Honesty Day Word Scramble Worksheet I made this word scramble for my 5th graders last year when we celebrated National Honesty Day (April 30th). It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 scrambled words about honesty and integrity - from easy ones like "truth" and "fair" to more challenging terms like "integrity" and "authentic." We used it as a warm-up activity before our class discussion about why honesty matters. The kids loved racing to see who could unscramble "trustworthy" first! I printed them on light blue paper to match our "honesty" theme. You get: • Page 1: The student worksheet with all scrambled words • Page 2: A no-fuss answer key I like using this when: Teaching character education Needing a quick morning activity Preparing for our ethics unit The words are practical ones we actually use in class - "promise," "lie" (for discussion!), and "apology." Last year, unscrambling "consequences" led to a great talk about how our choices affect others. Format: Basic PDF (2 pages) Teacher Tip: Have students pick one unscrambled word to use in a sentence about why honesty is important!

Christmas Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Christmas vocabulary puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our winter holidays unit. The kids loved the season but had no idea what words like wreath, nativity, or gingerbread meant when I tried to broaden their holiday vocabulary beyond just presents and Santa. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Christmas, Santa, reindeer, elf, sleigh, gift, tree, ornament, star, angel, nativity, wreath, gingerbread, cookie, milk, carol, and candle. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Christmas vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a wreath hangs on a door or a window. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple tree, star, and ornament drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw their favorite Christmas tradition on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

National Pretzel Day word search puzzle worksheet activity National Pretzel Day Word Search - Classroom Fun! Hey fellow teachers! Here's a word search I made for National Pretzel Day (April 26th) that my 3rd graders absolutely loved last year. It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 pretzel-themed words hidden in all directions - basic enough for younger kids but still fun for older elementary students. You'll find yummy words like: "salty" "dough" "twist" "mustard" (their favorite!) I used this when: • Celebrating food holidays • Needing a quick activity before lunch • Teaching about local bakeries The second page is just an answer key - nothing fancy, but super helpful when you need to check work fast. I printed mine on tan paper to look like pretzels, and the kids thought that was hilarious! Last year, we did this right before our pretzel taste-test (soft vs. hard pretzels), and the classroom smelled amazing. The word search got them excited about trying new foods while practicing spelling. Format: Basic 2-page PDF Teacher Tip: Have students circle their favorite pretzel topping words!

African American History Vocabulary word search, scramble and crosswor
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

African American History Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this African American history vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our Black History Month unit. The kids had heard some of the big names but didn't understand the words behind the stories—terms like freedom, justice, and courage that come up over and over when we talk about the struggle for equality. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like civil rights, equality, justice, freedom, courage, hero, segregation, integration, discrimination, protest, respect, and slavery. I also threw in a few like Emancipation Proclamation, NAACP, and Underground Railroad because they keep popping up in our read-alouds . Nothing fancy—just puzzles to help the key vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between "segregation" and "discrimination" or whether "integration" means the same as "equality" . The crossword I use for partners or as a review before we start a new biography. I added a couple simple heart, handshake, and star drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one word and write a sentence about what it means to them on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Producers and Consumers word search, scramble and crossword ⭐I made this producers and consumers puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our economics and ecosystems crossover unit. The kids kept confusing who makes things and who buys or eats them. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like producer, consumer, factory, farmer, baker, shopper, goods, services, and sell. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help separate the two terms in their heads. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is good for quiet time after lunch. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over whether "baker" is really a producer (yes, they make bread). The crossword I save for partners. I added a couple simple store and farm drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to name one more producer or consumer on the back. The kids like these better than my regular worksheets.

Art and Design Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Art and Design Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Art and Design Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this art and design careers puzzle set for my 4th graders during our career exploration and arts unit. The kids could name a few art jobs like painter and sculptor, but they had no idea about the incredible range of design careers—from graphic design to fashion to video game art—or what words like portfolio, commission, or typography meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, animator, fashion designer, interior designer, architect, video game designer, and art director . I also made sure to include "portfolio," "commission," "typography," and "visual storytelling" because they came up in our conversations about how artists actually work. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a video game designer is more of a "designer" or an "artist" (I tell them it's both, and the kids have very strong opinions about it). The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've watched short career videos. I added a couple simple paintbrush, camera, and compass-and-ruler drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one art career from the puzzles and write what they do on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Grade 5 Native American History word search, scramble and crossword pu

Grade 5 Native American History word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Native American history puzzle set for my 5th graders during our social studies unit. The kids knew a few tribe names but had no idea what words like confederation , reservation , or potlatch meant, and they kept mixing up which region each tribe belonged to. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using vocabulary from the major cultural regions—tribes like Iroquois , Sioux , Navajo , Apache , Cherokee , Hopi , Tlingit , and Blackfoot . I also included key terms like longhouse , tepee , pueblo , travois , wampum , totem pole , hogan , shaman , nomadic , and reservation . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about which region the Iroquois lived in (Eastern Woodlands—they always debate it) or whether a tepee and a wigwam are the same thing (they're not) . The crossword I use for partners, and I usually have a cultural regions map nearby for the kids who need the visual support to connect each tribe to its environment . Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one tribe and write one way they adapted to their environment on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

July 4th Independence Day word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

July 4th Independence Day word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this July 4th vocabulary puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our summer unit. The kids loved the holiday but had no idea what words like independence, patriotism, or fireworks meant when we talked about why we celebrate. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like July, Fourth, independence, America, flag, patriot, freedom, fireworks, picnic, barbecue, parade, red, white, blue, star, stripe, and celebration. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Independence Day vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the flag has 50 or 52 stars. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple flag, firework, and star drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw their favorite Independence Day activity on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
