Numbers 1–100 word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Numbers 1–100 word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Numbers 1–100 word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this numbers 1–100 puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our math unit. The kids could count but got tripped up on the tricky number words like "forty" versus "fourteen" or "eighty" versus "eighteen." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using numbers twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety, one hundred, and mixed teens like fourteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, and nineteen. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the number word patterns finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "forty" has a U like "four." The crossword I use for partners with number clues. I added a couple simple number chart and star drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the missing number words for 70, 80, and 90 on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Women in Leadership word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Women in Leadership word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Women in Leadership word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this women in leadership puzzle set for my 4th graders during our biography unit and Women's History Month. The kids could name a few leaders like Rosa Parks and Malala, but they had no idea about the breadth of leadership roles women hold—from presidents and CEOs to ambassadors and governors. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like president, CEO, leader, influencer, visionary, pioneer, strategic, inspirational, empowering, resilient, inclusive, collaborative, decisive, confident, entrepreneur, ambassador, governor, senator, manager, innovator, and heroine . I also added key terms like "advocate," "mentor," and "role model" because the kids kept asking how leaders support others and what it takes to become one . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "resilient" and "persistent" mean the same thing, or what a "visionary" actually does. The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've read short biographies of leaders like Kamala Harris, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Malala Yousafzai . I added a couple simple star, podium, and handshake drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one leadership word from the puzzles and write a sentence about what it means to be a leader on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Famous Architects word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Famous Architects word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this famous architects puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our art and design unit. The kids could name a couple buildings but had no idea who designed them or what words like architect, design, or blueprint meant when I tried to explain the profession. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using names like Frank Lloyd Wright, Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Le Corbusier, I. M. Pei, Antoni Gaudí, Louis Sullivan, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Eero Saarinen, Norman Foster, Renzo Piano, Oscar Niemeyer, Andrea Palladio, and Filippo Brunelleschi. I also included Walter Gropius and Rem Koolhaas because they always come up in discussions about modern design. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the names and their famous buildings finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or during indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about how to spell "Le Corbusier" or whether "Gaudí" has an accent mark (it does, but I left it off to keep it simple). The crossword I use for partners or as a review after a lesson. I added a couple simple building outline, blueprint, and pencil drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one architect from the puzzles and write one fact about them—like what building they designed or where they were from—on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nutrition and Healthy Eating word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this nutrition and healthy eating puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our health unit. The kids knew vegetables were good for them and candy was not, but had no idea about protein, vitamins, or why balance mattered. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamin, mineral, fiber, water, calcium, iron, fruit, vegetable, grain, dairy, balanced diet, and energy. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. I added a couple simple fruit, vegetable, and plate drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sight Words Grade 2 word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this sight words puzzle set for my 2nd graders during our reading unit. The kids could read chapter books but still got stuck on longer common words like "because," "thought," or "through." Ocean Zones word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Ocean Zones word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Ocean Zones word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this ocean zones puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our Earth science unit. The kids knew the ocean was deep, but they had no idea that it's divided into layers with different amounts of light, temperature, and types of creatures. They kept asking questions like "How deep is the sunlight zone?" and "Do fish live at the very bottom?" So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using vocabulary like Sunlight Zone, Twilight Zone, Midnight Zone, Abyss, Trench, photosynthesis, bioluminescence, pressure, plankton, and adaptation . I also made sure to include a few terms like "marine snow" and "vertical migration" because they came up when we watched videos about deep-sea creatures. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "bioluminescence" or whether the "twilight zone" has anything to do with the TV show from the 1960s (it doesn't, but the kids always make that connection) . The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've drawn our own ocean zone diagrams in class. I added a couple simple drawings of a depth scale, a fish with big teeth, and a glowing jellyfish but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one ocean zone from the puzzles and write one fact about the animals that live there on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Refugee Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Refugee Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Refugee Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this refugee vocabulary puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our social studies unit on global communities. The kids had heard of refugees but had no idea what words like refugee, asylum, or resettle meant when we talked about people who had to leave their homes. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like refugee, asylum, resettle, shelter, safety, journey, hope, war, peace, home, flee, escape, volunteer, and community. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between a refugee and an immigrant. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple boat, house, and heart drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one way they can welcome a newcomer on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

The Rock Cycle word search, scramble and crossword ⭐I made this rock cycle puzzle set for my 4th graders during our Earth science unit. The kids understood the three rock types but got lost when we added heat, pressure, melting, and cooling into one cycle. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic, magma, lava, sediment, compaction, cementation, heat, pressure, melting, and cooling. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help them see how it all connects. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after lunch. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over whether "compaction" or "cementation" comes first. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple arrow and rock drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a tiny rock cycle on the back with labels. The kids actually ask for these now.

Folk Art Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this folk art vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our art and culture unit. The kids could see crafts and handmade objects but had no idea what words like folk art, tradition, or handmade meant when I tried to explain the difference between folk art and fine art. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like folk art, craft, handmade, tradition, culture, community, story, symbol, pattern, folk artist, fiber art, quilting, pottery, wood carving, and tin work. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the folk art vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or during indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a quilt is art or just something you sleep under. The crossword I use for partners or as a review after a lesson. I added a couple simple quilt, clay pot, and carved wood drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one type of folk art from their own family or community on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Soil and Its Layers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this soil layers puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our Earth science unit. The kids thought dirt was just dirt until I tried explaining topsoil, subsoil, and bedrock. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like topsoil, subsoil, bedrock, humus, clay, sand, silt, decomposition, horizon, and weathering. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they mix up "topsoil" and "subsoil" sometimes. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple layered soil drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a tiny soil layer diagram on the back and label it. The kids actually ask for these now.

Visual elements are incorporated to enhance engagement without causing distraction.
