Visual elements are incorporated to enhance engagement without causing distraction. Latitude and Longitude word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Latitude and Longitude word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Latitude and Longitude word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this latitude and longitude puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our map skills unit. The kids could find north and south but had no idea what those number lines on the side of a map actually meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like latitude, longitude, equator, prime meridian, parallel, meridian, degrees, north, south, east, west, hemisphere, grid, coordinate, and absolute location. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether latitude lines go up and down or side to side. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple globe grid drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the approximate latitude and longitude of their town on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Plant Cell vs Animal Cell word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this plant cell vs animal cell puzzle set for my 4th graders during our life science unit. The kids kept mixing up which parts belong to which cell, especially the cell wall and chloroplasts. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like plant cell, animal cell, cell wall, cell membrane, nucleus, mitochondria, cytoplasm, chloroplast, vacuole, shape, rectangular, round, photosynthesis, storage, and organelle. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the differences finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether animal cells have a cell wall. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple drawings of a rectangular plant cell and a round animal cell but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list two differences between plant and animal cells on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Feelings Word Search Worksheets | Vocabulary Practice | Printables
Vocabulary, Language Development, ELA, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

These Feelings Word Search Worksheets give learners a chance to work with emotions vocabulary in a simple but slightly different way. Each worksheet includes 8 feelings pictures, but only 7 words are hidden in the puzzle. After finding the words, learners need to figure out which picture has not been used and write the missing word at the bottom of the page. The set includes 10 worksheets with different designs, while keeping the same activity format throughout. This makes the task familiar and easy to follow, but still visually fresh from page to page. The feelings vocabulary used in the worksheets includes common everyday words such as happy, sad, angry, scared, hungry, thirsty, tired, cold, hot, calm, excited, and more. What's included: • 10 printable worksheets • 10 different designs • Word search activities focused on feelings vocabulary • Missing word challenge on every page • PDF format This resource can be used with children learning emotions vocabulary and with English language learners. It also works well for literacy centers, independent work, morning work, early finishers, and homework practice. Suitable for: • ESL / EFL learners • Elementary students • Vocabulary practice and review • Social-emotional learning activities

Greatest Common Factor word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this greatest common factor puzzle set for my 5th graders during our number theory unit. The kids could list factors but had no idea how to find the biggest one two numbers shared, which made fractions harder. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like greatest common factor, GCF, factor, common factor, largest, shared, both numbers, list, find, multiply, prime factorization, divisor, reduce, simplify, and fraction. Examples include GCF of 12 and 18 is 6, GCF of 8 and 12 is 4, GCF of 15 and 25 is 5. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the GCF concept finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether GCF helps with simplifying fractions. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple Venn diagram and number list drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers find the GCF of 24 and 36 on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

National Walking Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet

National Walking Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

National Walking Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity National Walking Day Word Scramble - Get Moving & Learning! I made this word scramble for my 3rd graders last year when we celebrated National Walking Day (April 5th). It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 scrambled words about walking and movement - from easy ones like "step" and "path" to more challenging terms like "pedometer" and "hydration." We used this activity right before our school-wide Wellness Walk. The kids worked on it while lacing up their sneakers - it was the perfect way to get them thinking about healthy habits while we got ready to move. Some of their favorite words to unscramble were "sneakers," "energy," and "stretch." You'll get: • Page 1: The word scramble with plenty of writing space • Page 2: An answer key for quick checking I chose words that actually come up when we talk about walking for health: Basic terms: "walk," "shoes," "pace" Health words: "heart," "active," "oxygen" Safety terms: "signal," "crosswalk" The kids loved racing to see who could unscramble "exercise" first! We kept the completed sheets in our PE portfolios to reference during our fitness unit. Format: No-frills PDF (2 pages) Teacher Tip: Have students highlight their favorite word and demonstrate it (like jumping when they solve "jog")!

The kids knew farming had something to do with food, but they had no idea how to balance growing enough food with protecting the planet for the future — or what words like sustainable, compost, or erosion really meant in practice. They kept mixing up what "organic" actually means and whether it's just a buzzword or a real farming method with rules, and they had no idea that farmers have to worry about things like soil loss, water use, and pesticide resistance. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using vocabulary like sustainable, organic, erosion, compost, irrigation, terracing, biodiversity, conservation, food waste, and agroecology . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of agroecology (it's a long one) or whether compost and fertilizer are the same thing (they're not — compost is organic matter that improves soil health; fertilizer can be synthetic or organic and is added to boost plant growth). The crossword I use for partners or as a review after a lesson where we discuss things like pest control without synthetic chemicals and how small farms or community gardens can be part of the solution . Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one sustainable practice from the puzzle and explain why it's good for the planet on the back, or I ask them to brainstorm a small change their family could make to waste less food. The kids actually ask for these now.
