Latitude and Longitude word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this latitude and longitude puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our map skills unit. The kids could find north and south but had no idea what those number lines on the side of a map actually meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like latitude, longitude, equator, prime meridian, parallel, meridian, degrees, north, south, east, west, hemisphere, grid, coordinate, and absolute location. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether latitude lines go up and down or side to side. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple globe grid drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the approximate latitude and longitude of their town on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

The kids kept mixing up which parts belong to which cell, especially the cell wall and chloroplasts. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like plant cell, animal cell, cell wall, cell membrane, nucleus, mitochondria, cytoplasm, chloroplast, vacuole, shape, rectangular, round, photosynthesis, storage, and organelle. The kids could list factors but had no idea how to find the biggest one two numbers shared, which made fractions harder. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like greatest common factor, GCF, factor, common factor, largest, shared, both numbers, list, find, multiply, prime factorization, divisor, reduce, simplify, and fraction. Examples include GCF of 12 and 18 is 6, GCF of 8 and 12 is 4, GCF of 15 and 25 is 5. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the GCF concept finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Basic Spanish Food and Drinks word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this basic Spanish food and drinks puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our Spanish unit. The kids could name food in English but had no idea what words like pan, leche, or fruta meant when we started learning Spanish food vocabulary. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like pan, leche, fruta, verdura, carne, pescado, arroz, pasta, queso, pan, jugo, agua, café, and té. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Spanish food vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "jugo" and "zumo" both mean juice. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple bread, milk, and fruit drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw their favorite food and label it in Spanish on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

National Walking Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity National Walking Day Word Scramble - Get Moving & Learning! I made this word scramble for my 3rd graders last year when we celebrated National Walking Day (April 5th). It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 scrambled words about walking and movement - from easy ones like "step" and "path" to more challenging terms like "pedometer" and "hydration." We used this activity right before our school-wide Wellness Walk. The kids worked on it while lacing up their sneakers - it was the perfect way to get them thinking about healthy habits while we got ready to move. Some of their favorite words to unscramble were "sneakers," "energy," and "stretch." Sustainable Agriculture word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this sustainable agriculture puzzle set for my 4th graders during our Earth science and environmental unit. The kids knew farming had something to do with food, but they had no idea how to balance growing enough food with protecting the planet for the future — or what words like sustainable, compost, or erosion really meant in practice. They kept mixing up what "organic" actually means and whether it's just a buzzword or a real farming method with rules, and they had no idea that farmers have to worry about things like soil loss, water use, and pesticide resistance. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using vocabulary like sustainable, organic, erosion, compost, irrigation, terracing, biodiversity, conservation, food waste, and agroecology . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of agroecology (it's a long one) or whether compost and fertilizer are the same thing (they're not — compost is organic matter that improves soil health; fertilizer can be synthetic or organic and is added to boost plant growth). The crossword I use for partners or as a review after a lesson where we discuss things like pest control without synthetic chemicals and how small farms or community gardens can be part of the solution . Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one sustainable practice from the puzzle and explain why it's good for the planet on the back, or I ask them to brainstorm a small change their family could make to waste less food. The kids actually ask for these now.
