Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the food names finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. Word search & scramble puzzle worksheet activities for kids 2nd and 3rd grades to 4th and 5th grades, also solution for the puzzles is included ⭐ This document contains a word search and a word scramble activity. The materials were created during an afternoon when student engagement was low. The objective was to provide an activity that resembled a game while also stimulating cognitive function. The puzzles proved effective in achieving this goal. The PDF document is four pages in length. It includes two puzzles for student use (a word search and a word scramble) and two answer keys. Marine Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this marine careers puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our career exploration and ocean unit. The kids loved learning about the ocean, and I wanted to show them that marine science is a lot more than just studying dolphins and whales . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using terms like marine biologist, oceanographer, marine conservationist, marine archaeologist, marine geologist, marine engineer, and physical oceanographer . I also included working titles like deckhand, commercial fisherman, and harbour master to show that people in different marine careers often work with boats and on the water . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or as an intro to the unit. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about how to spell "oceanographer" or what the difference is between a marine biologist and a marine conservationist . The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've watched a few career videos. I added a couple simple fish, boat, and wave drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one marine career from the puzzles and write what they do on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Thanksgiving word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity Thanksgiving Word Scramble Worksheet Here's a Thanksgiving word scramble I've used successfully with my 3rd and 4th graders. This 2-page printable contains 24 holiday-themed words ranging from simple ("pie") to challenging ("cornucopia"). I created this last November when my students needed a fun but educational activity before our Thanksgiving break. They enjoyed racing to unscramble words while waiting for our class feast. Space Rocks Asteroids and Comets word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this space rocks puzzle set for my 4th graders during our space unit. The kids could name a few things like the sun and planets, but they had no idea what words like asteroid, comet, or meteor meant, or the difference between them. They kept mixing up which one burned up in the atmosphere and which one had a tail. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like asteroid, comet, meteor, meteoroid, meteorite, tail, nucleus, orbit, crater, sun, gravity, impact, debris, and rock. I also added a few like "Chelyabinsk" and "Jupiter" because they came up in our conversations about famous impacts. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "meteorite" or whether a comet and a meteor are the same thing (they're not—comets are icy bodies that form tails, meteors burn up in the atmosphere). The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have a diagram of a comet and a labeled meteoroid/meteor/meteorite flow chart nearby for the kids who need the visual support to see the differences. I added a couple simple asteroid, comet, and meteor drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a comet and label its parts on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

They also kept mixing up herbivores and carnivores. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using basic vocabulary like plant, animal, leaf, flower, stem, roots, seed, grow, water, sun, soil, air, and a few animal types like mammal, bird, fish, insect, reptile, and amphibian . I also threw in a few like "habitat" and "food chain" because they kept coming up when we talked about where things live and what eats what . The PDF is four pages.
