Ten short French informational texts profile a different profession each — pompier (firefighter), infirmier (nurse), mécanicien (mechanic), journaliste (journalist), boulanger (baker), photographe (photographer), guide touristique (tour guide), agriculteur (farmer), biologiste marin (marine biologist), and météorologue (meteorologist). Each one-paragraph text describes what the worker does, the tools or setting involved, and the personal qualities the job requires, written in simple present-tense French sentences. Four open-response questions follow every text, asking about the worker’s tasks, tools, setting or qualities, with some prompts asking for an explanation. Blank lines are provided for handwritten answers. The file provides no answer key, so student answers are checked against the text itself.
