Sight Word Fluency Packet - could - These sight word worksheets encourage all students to practice sight word reading fluency for the target sight word. There are three different fluency practice pages that all focus on learning to recognize, spell, and read the target sight word in context. Allowing students to practice the sight word in context gives students the ability to connect the sight word's meaning and grammatical usage to help gain a greater understanding of the target word. Each passage repeats the target word multiple times for extra practice with the word. Students will practice reading, writing, reading comprehension, and spelling high frequency words with these fluency pages. Included in this sight word fluency packet: * One reading fluency page that contains a single passage for students to read and find the sight word. * One write and read fluency page where students will write the target sight word and then read the passage. * One read, write, and draw fluency page where students will read a sentence, copy the sentence then draw a picture to illustrate the sentence. It may be used in class or as homework. The objective of this resource is for students to correctly apply properties of multiplication to solve problems. The activities in this packet follow Common Core standards. In this packet you will find tutorials, practice pages, word problems, a review of both properties, and a test on both properties geared toward deeper understanding of both. The review and the quiz are almost identical – only the numbers and word problems have been changed. This packet should only be used after students have a good foundation of basic multiplication. If you choose to implement this during class time, you can do so in a variety of ways from page to page: Whole group – Complete a page with your entire class and you can project the page onto the whiteboard. Small group – Have students work in small groups to complete a page. You can also pull a small group to your table and work alongside them. This allows you to informally assess their mastery. Partner work – Students can work in groups of two to complete pages that you assign. Math centers – Pages can be placed in small groups for students to complete. Write multi-digit whole numbers in expanded form

Writing large numbers in expanded form is the process of breaking down numbers into their appropriate place value. It is useful for doing large sums without a calculator and helps students better understand the difference between thousands, hundredths, tens, and units. Finding the expanded form of a number means looking at each digit in the multi-digit number to see what place value that digit is in. For example, if the digit 5 is in the hundreds place, then in expanded form that digit would be written as 500.
