About This Product

When a kid says the exact thing that makes your face hot, you have about two seconds before you say something you will think about all night. These cards are for those two seconds. They coach the adult, not the kid.

What's included:

• 15 pocket cards plus a cover card, cut-and-ring ready

• Short reminders on noticing the hook, body first, fewer words, wait time, the audience, and tagging out

• Cards on face and body language, written in plain words

• A card on agreeing with what is true (it takes the wind out of most arguments)

• Fits on a binder ring or behind a badge

How I'd use it:

Keep the two that fit you on top. Most of us already know our weak spot: some of us talk too much, some of us get louder, some of us go cold. "Mostly not about you" is the one I see people reach for most. Take it seriously, don't take it personally. These work well for paras, subs, and anyone new to a tough room.

Who it's for: Teachers, paras, and families. Any grade level.

Pairs well with:

• Teacher Self-Regulation Worksheet: My Triggers & Calm Plan for Hard Moments

• Calm Adult Bundle

• Para Ready Calm Kit

What you download: one printable PDF, 2 pages, US Letter.

This is an educational resource. It does not replace your school's crisis plan, safety procedures, or any training your district requires.
