Career and Technical Education Terms word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this career and technical education puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our career exploration unit. The kids could name a few jobs but had no idea what words like career, technical, or hands-on meant when we talked about different career paths. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like career, technical, education, hands-on, skill, trade, certification, training, job, and career. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the CTE vocabulary finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether going to college is the only path to a good career. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple briefcase, tools, and graduation hat drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one career they are interested in on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
