Kindergarten All About Me Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this All About Me puzzle set for my Kindergarteners during our first week of school. The kids were learning to talk about themselves and their families, but they had no idea what words like name, family, or favorite meant when we started our All About Me unit. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like me, my, name, family, mom, dad, sister, brother, pet, favorite, color, food, and home. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "favorite" or whether "sister" and "brother" are different. The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have pictures of family members and pets nearby for the kids who need visual support. I added a couple simple happy face, house, and family stick figure drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for Pre-K through 1st grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a picture of their family on the back and label them with words from the puzzle. The kids actually ask for these now.
