  • Calculate the range of a small whole-number data set by finding the difference between its greatest and least values.

  • Find the median of a data set containing three to five whole numbers.

  • Calculate the mean of a data set by summing its values and dividing by the count.

  • Identify the mode of a data set that contains a repeated value.

Teaching tips

  • Assign the four city worksheets in the printed order (Sydney, St. Petersburg, London, San Francisco), since the digital activity referenced on page 1 unlocks each city in turn.
