Students can practice counting syllables with this fun and engaging Christmas themed syllable sorting activity. Students will work with words that have 1, 2, 3, or 4 syllables. This makes a great hands on literacy center for students who need phonological awareness practice with counting syllables. What is Included in this Syllable Sort: This set includes Christmas tree shaped cards with pictures of 1, 2, 3, or 4 syllable words. This syllable sorting activity make a great hands on literacy center for students to practice counting syllables in words. The bold, colorful, and easy to recognize pictures allow students to count the syllables of each word and sort them on the correct mat independently. Teachers can place magnets on the back of each piece and allow students to match the cards on a magnetic surface. How to Use: Students will begin by locating and laying out the bottom of each Christmas tree. These pieces are the ones with the numbers 1-4 on them.
