Battle Brackets are not just for basketball! Students will enjoy these SEL peer pressure strategy brackets! There are 5 color strategy brackets and one blank one. All slides are FULLY EDITABLE as this is a Google Slides Presentation. There are 12 Middle School and 12 Elementary School peer pressure scenarios. Some of the scenarios for elementary school are; someone tells you to eat candy when you were not supposed to, someone asked you to say something mean about another student, someone dared you to take someone's football, someone asked you to cut in line, someone asked you to give the answers for the spelling test and others. Some of the middle school scenario examples are; someone asks you to drink alcohol, someone asks you to vape, someone dared you to take something out of someone else's backpack, someone asked you to spread a rumor about someone else, someone dared you to steal something from the cafeteria for their lunch, and many more. You can use these battle brackets for whole-class voting and discussion or with small groups. It is up to you. There are detailed instructions in this product. For student engagement, you can use these discussion questions. 1. Has anyone used this peer pressure strategy? 2. Are there certain situations to use this strategy? 3. When would this strategy? 4. 5th Grade Math Review Bingo Games

Prepare your students for end of year testing with these fun games. This file contains 2 Bingo Games of 8 questions each for 5th grade math review. Students love games and especially bingo. Students will create their bingo card with the answers given (not in correct order) and then work math problems to mark their answer on the bingo card. As a teacher I always had a small candy for the students who got a bingo. The topics covered are: convert between written and standard form of numbers, find the volume of rectangular prisms, multiplication of whole numbers, subtraction of mixed numbers, operations with decimals, division word problems, compare decimals, fraction word problems, rounding decimals, and place value. Full instructions for the class game are included as well as the answer key. You can have students to complete both games in the same day or in two different days. Just be sure students save their bingo card for the second day.

This Guided Reading Book - World of Zebras (Level N) with lesson plan includes: Guided Reading Color Label (front cover x1) This is a quick way to match the book’s demands to what students can generally handle.. The overall goal is to use the level/color to pick books for several smaller groups. To qualify for a certain level, a student is expected to read a book from that level with about 90–94% accuracy. If a student is consistently accurate and understands, move up a level. If the student is struggling at that level, drop down and add more support. Each student will improve at completely different rates, but it is generally one of the best ways to check progress across the class. DOWNLOAD THE CATALOG TO VIEW ALL GUIDED READING BOOKS AVAILABLE (SORTED LEVELS A-Z) Pre-Reading Question (x1) Teacher asks the prompt aloud, can be while showing the cover or first page. Students share what they already know, or make educated guesses from the cover. Prompt them to use the target vocabulary. Write some of their responses on the board to look back at during the reading. Vocabulary Words (x5) Introduce the five words, best doing it one at a time. Start by saying it, while students repeat and then see if anyone knows what it means before reading further. Read through the meaning and try to briefly connect each word to a picture or gesture so it’s meaningful. Ask students to flip through the book pages and point to where they see each of the vocabulary words. While reading the book pause upon coming across one of the vocab words or read the sentence twice to make sure students understand the word has appeared. Optional: Ask students to raise hands whenever they see/hear one of the new words. Guided Reading Pages (x10) Check the book snapshot (below) for: primary topic - do you need to prep extra reading or intro materials on this? what is taught best - decide on 1-2 bullets to focus on, use the prompt or words provided here for best results. learning goals - what you are checking for students to be able to do after the session, elicit answers using prompts or words provided. key vocabulary (see section above). questions overview - so you know what is coming up and if you need to prep extra materials to assist understanding. Run the lesson You may have already looked at a few of the pages together, but you can show them some of the pictures again first to set meaning. Depending on how much time you have and how familiar your students are with guided reading class, you may want to read the book aloud first with the group first. Students whisper or partner read, while you listen in. If time, do it as a group, one student reading a page each. Use the guided page’s prompts to coach: “Check the picture / does it make sense?” “Point under the words / try the first sound” “Reread the sentence smoothly”. Try to focus more on one student per session (rotating every time), so you can work out if they are ready to move up or need to move down a level. Comprehension Questions (back cover x3) This is your way to check that students didn’t just say the words, but actually understood the text. First, let students answer by pointing to the page/picture and saying a short sentence. After any answer, follow with: “Show me where you found that in the text.” In bigger groups, have partners answer first (10–20 seconds), then call on 2–3 students to share. One important skill for students to learn is to write sentences. Sometimes students have difficulty adding details to sentences. This activity gets students to practice adding extra details to sentences by working with adjectives, adverbs, and prepositional phrases. By adding details to their sentences, students will write more interesting and engaging stories What is Included: This activity includes two practice pages where the additional details are already given to the student. Students will practice handwriting by tracing the sentences that show students how to add the details to the sentences. Also included are word cards (for nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and prepositional phrases) to help students come up with ideas to create their own sentences. Blank writing pages are also provided for students to write their own sentences by writing the details in each step. When to Use: Literacy or Writing Center - The worksheets and word cards can be placed in a literacy center for students to write interesting sentences. Morning Work - The teacher can give the students a simple sentence to start with and use the blank pages to add details to that sentence while their classmates arrive at class. Homework - The blank pages can be sent home for students to practice adding details with their parents. Skills Assessed: Students will practice adding more details to their sentences by adding descriptive language. The worksheets included in this resource are no-prep. This alphabet fine motor beading center will assist students in practicing letter recognition and in building their fine motor skills. This task box alphabet activity will allow students to stay engaged and have fun while learning to recognize letters. What is Inside: This fine motor activity provides letter recognition cards with five capital or lowercase letters on each card. Some letter cards feature letters in alphabetical order while the others have the letters all mixed up. There is also a worksheet where the students, or the teacher, can write their own letter sequences to create with the alphabet beads. How to use: Students will choose one alphabet card.
