Interactive Chemistry Quiz: GHS Symbols – Genially + PDF Version

Interactive Chemistry Quiz: GHS Symbols – Genially + PDF Version
Science, STEM, Chemistry, Physics, Life Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Technology, Basic Science, Biology, P.E. & Health, Homeschool Templates, Grade 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, Teacher Tools, Experiments, Activities, Labs, Worksheets & Printables, Escape Room, Games, Presentations, Quizzes and Tests, Quizzes

Interactive Chemistry Quiz: GHS Symbols – Genially (+ PDF Version) Bring lab safety to life with this interactive quiz on the GHS (Globally Harmonized System) hazard symbols – perfect for middle and high school chemistry lessons. Whether you're starting the unit or wrapping up a safety review, this quiz adds variety, visual appeal, and a bit of fun to your lesson plan. You’ll get two versions of the quiz: – A PDF version that can be used digitally or printed (but it works not well) – A Genially link that leads to an animated, interactive version (includes sound – which can be muted) Both versions test students on the meanings of the various GHS symbols – from corrosive substances to environmental hazards. The quiz includes original clipart and my own glitter-animated GHS symbols to make the content more visually appealing without distracting from the important safety message. I usually use the Genially quiz for individual work in the computer lab or on tablets, so each student can go at their own pace. But it also works well as a station activity , a class-wide quiz , or even as homework , depending on your classroom setup. At the end of the PDF, you’ll find: A QR code to scan directly to the Genially A clickable link for browser access An iframe embed code , if you want to use it on your (non-commercial) learning platform Attention: The interactive PDF does not contain the full scope of the material. The quiz works. Unfortunately, the additional tasks do not. Using Genially is therefore recommended and much more motivating for the pupils. For the interactive quiz you need an internet connection and a terminal device. The quiz can be carried out with the whole class or as partner or individual work. I prefer individual work at each student's own pace. To get to the Genially link, either scan the QR code at the end of the document or click on the link button available there. You can also copy the iframe code and embed the Genially on a learning platform or other... The Genially can be used either at the beginning of the topic or as a backup. It is also worth using as a station in station work. The interactive version includes motivating sound effects , a self-paced structure , and a clear, age-appropriate design for grades 7–10. 📌 Important note : The Genially quiz is protected by copyright. It’s for your own classroom use only . Please don’t share the link or embed it outside a private, secure learning environment. Sharing with colleagues, online platforms, or social media is not permitted. I hope your students enjoy reviewing GHS symbols as much as mine do! – Heike from @Lernfitness Did You Know? I teach with a certified therapy dog, and together we create a positive and welcoming learning environment. 🐶

This resource was created for use in real classrooms with real schedules: it is short, sweet, and will not overtake an entire class period. This is a 10-minute digital math warm up where students use their skills to work toward unlocking a lock. The "escape room" format motivates students to get through routine practice! The process is routine: students solve 5 math problems on one page, then use the first digit of their answer to make a 5-digit code. If the code is correct, the mission is complete. If the code is incorrect, nothing shows up and students are prompted to go back, find their mistake, and try again. This format builds in self-checking and rewards perseverance while requiring no extra grading from the teacher! Mission 3 emphasizes spiral review of important skills, including: Greatest common factor Adding fractions with unlike denominators Finding the percent of a number Solving one-step equations Unit conversions These skills spiral throughout the series rather than being practiced in isolation. What you get in this resource: 1 mini digital math escape room (Mission 3) 5 math problems on one interactive page A printable worksheet version Answer key and final code This mini escape room would be PERFECT to use as a math warm up or bell ringer. You could even assign it at the end of your class period, or as an assignment for early finishers or a sub day. If you are looking for a way to keep students coming back to these important skills all year long, Mission 3 is for you! Your students will love it and ask for more, and you will love saving prep time.

The time before the holidays can get a little crazy in the classroom. Students are ready for a break and teachers are too! Keep your class engaged with EIGHT Days of math review! The ACTIVITIES are suitable for 5th grade and 6th grade. They are great for easy and fast sub plans. I use them as an 'end of the day carrot' that my students look forward to. They can't leave for the day without getting a step closer to finding Santa so it helps them to stay focused throughout the day so that we have time for the fun activity at the end of the day. One of the best parts: NO PREP required! This is not only great for distance learning but also great if you have run out of copies for the month and need a digital version fast... or if you just forget to make your copies for the week. (It's happened to me! - too. many things to keep track of) The pages do print beautiful in color and black and white if you have the time, but don't fret if you don't. Just assign it on Google Classroom - directions included. If you haven't taught the topic yet, it is a great mini lesson and if you have taught it, it can act as a review. (There are also some fun logic puzzles sprinkled in.) dividing decimals multiplying decimals dividing whole numbers multiplying whole numbers adding decimals subtracting decimals deducing information measurement conversions practicing with money problem solving graphing predicting and having fun! Each task builds off the next. Students will get clues as to where Santa might be hiding AFTER they correctly solve each math task. And don't worry, there is an ANSWER KEY. This resource lends itself to independent work but students can also work in groups of pairs to solve. Don't forget about the other holidays! There is a themed math activity in my store for each of the following: St. Patrick's Day: Find the Leprechaun Easter: Find the Easter Bunny Cinco de Mayo: Find the Piñata

The substance is the departments a prototype, orally administered sunscreen being developed by the department which has unfortunately been found to turn the skin of mice purple and which has not yet been tested on humans and is also therefore potentially toxic. The pack contains: · PowerPoint – scene setting and instructions (sound effects and built-in timer); · crossword ; · word search; · dominoes activity; · worksheet Differentiated over 2 versions); · code breaker sheet; · answer keys; · lesson plan. If time is limited just the crossword , word search and domino can be used. With a minimum of 50 minutes available one of the differentiated worksheets can also be used. The worksheet is the most challenging clue to solve and this can be omitted completely for less able classes. Both 3 and 4 number combination locks can be purchased very cheaply online if using an actual box containing an unopened bottle of a soft drink, with the label removed, for a member of the winning team to take to the technician. In the absence of a locked box, until the code is found, as each group completes a team member can be dispatched to the prep room for the technician to ”try the code”. Alternatively all the combination locks in the science department had been set to the same combination for an escape room lesson including the one used on the box with the antidote in the prep room. The combination has been lost but if the class can open the one in front of them it will open the one on the antidote! See more Elf Off the Shelf resources on this topic and many others
