I designed "The Kings of Judah Bible Character Study Activity Packs to help children get into the Bible for themselves, learn research skills, enhance reading and writing skills, increase vocabulary as well as teach ancient history from a Biblical perspective. This is the second set with a total of 5 sets planned. Each worksheet contains one of five kings with categories to fill in unique facts, including: The age that each person first became king. The time period each king reigned. Who the father/mother were (if available). How long each king reigned. A bonus table is also included with additional facts about the five kings that the student can search for the Bible. 5 kings are included in this second activity pack: Hezekiah Josiah Jotham Solomon Uzziah In addition to the worksheets, the set includes: An essay assignment for students to choose their favorite king so they can study more about the individual king while developing essay writing skills. A drawing assignment is also included to encourage non-writers and visual learners to participate in the activities. Resource links and Bible verse references are included to simplify research of the kings. A map of the area is also included which can be used to for a geography lesson on Judah and the surrounding areas. An answer key for the table is included. Five coloring pages which include the name of each king for copy writing and spelling practice. My Kings of Judah 2 Activity Pack will develop their critical thinking and writing skills, provide them with advanced reading practice, allow them to express their creativity, and teach them tons of interesting things about the kings discussed in the Bible. Genericbury City Election Activity Teacher Guide: Goal Statement: Students will be able to analyze how candidates respond to the needs and wishes of the community in order to become more electable, in order to better understand the relationship between representatives and their voters. 2 to 4 50 Minute Class Periods In this activity , students are wrestling with what it means to be “electable”. They will create a candidate to run against others. This can be assigned as a group assignment (so that 3 or 4 candidates are running against each other in each class), a class assignment (so that each class is constructing one candidate together to run against other sections of the class), or individually (so that each student has the ability to create their own candidate). There are countless extension activities you can do, from holding debates to having the class vote for a candidate other than their own to see who was most convincing. You can also lean into potential “holes” in candidates. For instance, if one group made their candidate a millionaire, maybe that candidate is “out of touch” with regular citizens. If another group made a candidate with 8 kids, maybe they “simply won’t have the time to govern”. There are a handful of sections students will move through. You can provide the candidate packet to students/groups as a digital file or in printed form: 1. Candidate Name 2. Candidate Appearance 3. Candidate Background and Resume 4. Candidate Slogan 5. Campaign Stances 6. Campaign Finances You can assist them in these sections and talk about benefits and drawbacks of each decision. This activity is designed to be non-partisan, which is why it is a local election activity . Try to keep students focused on the 5 “major issues” outlined in the activity . You can use the polling section to help them prioritize various issues. In general this activity can be very fun, and I suggest seeking potential scandals and other events that might happen to the community to spark excitement in the room. This Historical Fiction Genre Study Literature Circle Project is a 41-page resource designed for grades 6th, 7th, and 8th. as a culminating project after a literature circle or book group experience focused on historical fiction. It can be modified for lower or higher grades as well. Working in literature circle groups or book clubs, students will read a historical fiction novel, analyze its characters, plot, author's craft , and historical time period, and present their findings to a small group. This project introduces students to the genre of historical fiction and helps them understand its importance and significance. By the end of the project, students should have a good understanding of what historical fiction is. Many students enjoy reading historical fiction, especially if they are learning about the period in their History/Social Studies class. In addition, if you teach a Language Arts/History Core or plan with a History/Social Studies partner-teacher, this is an excellent resource for both classes and provides students with a different way to engage with history. World Cup 2026 USA Pennant Banner I printed these pennants when my class started mentioning the World Cup. I wasn’t planning a full activity, but I wanted something small to reflect what was already on their minds. Some students colored the black-and-white version, others just helped cut and assemble. It worked well without taking much time. After that, I hung the banner across the board. It stayed up for a while and didn’t interfere with regular lessons. The design is simple, which I prefer for seasonal decorations. It’s visible, but not distracting. This is a printable PDF. You can print the colored version or let students personalize the pages. Then connect the pennants with string or ribbon. I usually don’t laminate unless I want to reuse it the following year.
