This comprehensive 33-page digital Social Skills Role-Play Scenarios and Empathy Building Sheets Curriculum for students in Grades 3-6 provides educators with easy-to-implement lessons about powerful and important topics - social-emotional learning (SEL) and developing empathy. Each of the components in this package features relevant supportive research along with fun, engaging, and easy-to-use role-play simulations and seven engaging student worksheets that address the most important life skills our students need, including developing empathy; resolving conflict; practicing active listening; decoding non-verbal cues; navigating peer pressure; providing genuine apologies; and displaying sportsmanship. This curriculum is perfect for teachers in elementary schools, counselors, homeschoolers, and out-of-school-program providers. Included in this 33-page Curriculum are the following components and resources: Phase 1: The Core Theory behind Affective, Cognitive, and Compassionate Empathy/ Supporting Material for Role Playing Phase 2: Seven Printable Student Worksheets with Real-Life Role-Playing Scenarios (Decoding Non-Verbal Cues, The Empathy Bridge, I Statement Architect, Active Listening, Peer Pressure Navigator, Apology Blueprint, Sportsmanship & Fair Play) Phase 3: Curriculum Guides, Teachers Visuals, Implementation Guide, and Answer Key This no-prep resource is designed to provide students with a real-world opportunity to transform abstract concepts into experiential learning through safe role-play and mapping experiential empathy. Therefore, all upper elementary-aged children (8-12) will develop emotional intelligence by reducing the tendency to exhibit hostile attribution bias, and practice prosocial behaviors in a low-stakes learning environment. Immediate digital download is available, and the Curriculum may be easily printed and used immediately or utilized through Google Classroom. Why Schools & Parents are Successful: Both research and classrooms prove this method produces results. The basis for these materials is experiential learning theory, mirror neuron studies, and restorative practice; there is measurable growth in empathy and resolving conflicts. You will find many ready-to-use worksheets, role-play scripts, and teacher guides to help you provide instant lessons that save you hours of planning for your classroom. This is an effective method to help your son or daughter become more emotionally intelligent, eliminate hostile attribution bias, and help them develop real-life scripts for dealing with peer pressure, making apologies, and engaging in fair play. Use this method for the whole classroom or in small groups or during counseling, and it will include different learners, multi-age groups and students with neuro-diversity. Many parents report that their children demonstrate newfound positivebehaviour at home, and schools have successfully adopted this curriculum to reduce relational aggression and meet CASEL standards. Intended target audience: Grades 3 - 6 (approximately 8 to 12 years old) are referenced in every chapter and case study/worksheet in this curriculum as being appropriate for that age range and developmental level. The other target ages of K - 2 will not be appropriate due to more advanced cognitive requirements (the second-order Theory of Mind, perspective-taking, and restorative language frameworks) and to Grades 7+ (middle school) students for their focus on upper elementary social dynamics (recess exclusion, group projects, rumor spreading, sportsmanship). Area of Triangles, Parallelograms & Trapezoids: Middle School Geometry

Area of Triangles, Parallelograms & Trapezoids: Middle School Geometry
Math, Geometry, Measurements, Grade 5, 6, 7, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

This area of triangles, parallelograms and trapezoids worksheet has students work out why each formula is true before they use it. On printed grid shapes, they cut and move part of a parallelogram to make a rectangle, then join two copies of a triangle, and two copies of a trapezoid, to make a parallelogram. From each drawing they write the area formula themselves. After the discovery pages, students compare the three proofs, explain why two formulas include one half, and describe in words how a drawing proves a formula. Practice follows with triangles (including one whose height falls outside the shape), a parallelogram with a slanted side to ignore, and two trapezoids, using whole-number and decimal measurements in inches and feet. Later pages ask students to reason and apply: compare a rectangle, parallelogram and triangle with the same base and height, find the mistake in a student's triangle work, split a house-shaped garden bed into two shapes, work backwards from an area to a missing height or base, and draw their own shapes with a given area. What's included: 5 student pages and a 2-page answer key. Page 1: discover the parallelogram and triangle formulas on grids Page 2: discover the trapezoid formula, compare the three proofs and explain one in words Page 3: find the area of two triangles, a parallelogram and two trapezoids, with a height and units tip Page 4: same base and same height, find the mistake, and a Which formula? challenge Page 5: work backwards to a missing measurement and make your own shapes Answer key with every answer, pictures showing why each formula works, a model explanation and common mix-ups to watch for Grades: written for grades 6 and 7 geometry. Formats: print it in color or in ink-saving black and white.

The Emotional Regulation & Self-Care Planner for Teens (39 pages), which is available digitally as a curriculum and a planner, is laid out in three phases. The first phase (core content & theory) consists of four chapters dealing with the neurobiology of adolescent emotions, the cognitive restructuring process as well as working with the inner critic; somatic regulation (resilience of the nervous system); strategic self-care (boundary architecture). Also included are real-life case studies of teenagers (amygdala hijack, perfectionism spiral, freeze response/burnout cycle); The second phase consists of a student workbook that includes ten interactive worksheets (re: affective granularity/metacognition cognitive distortion; interoceptive/somatic map; navigating the Window of Tolerance boundary architecture; digital ecosystem audit; executive function/anticipatory anxiety; and interpersonal rupture & repair); The third phase consists of visuals & teacher resources (classroom visuals, answer keys, assessment rubrics, teacher implementation guide). The three visuals contain high-fidelity representations of the Window of Tolerance diagram; cognitive-behavioral triad; multidimensional self-care matrix). The teacher resources contain answer keys for each module and rubrics for use in assessing student work. The resource addresses self-care from three frameworks, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and polyvagal theory and defines self-care as "radical stewardship of oneself". It provides teenagers with practical tools for emotional regulation, managing stress, setting digital boundaries, and developing resilience. The resource was designed to be print-ready and tested in classrooms, and includes fillable blank forms and reflection items. What Parents/Schools Appreciate: Based on research and ready to use in class – Integrating CBT, DBT and Polyvagal Theory, the program includes worksheets for students as well as the teacher's key that connects with social emotional learning (SEL) standards, thereby saving weeks of lesson planning. Directly targeted to teens and highly engaging – The material is presented via case studies from students, real-world issues they face with the digital age and through visual diagrams that connect to these emotional learning experiences for grades 9-12. Trauma-informed and provides safety – The material provides the students with options, breaks the stigma on emotional learning and clearly explains the reporting protocols for educators, making it a resource they can use for success in diverse classrooms. Comprehensive and multi-functional – It can be used for whole class lesson plans, small group counseling, advisory periods or as a self-help resource for individual students, one product meets several needs. Immediate learning and long term benefit – Students develop ongoing skills in emotional granularity, boundary setting, and regulating their nervous system while parents and schools experience decreased levels of anxiety and increased levels of focus. Intended Students: Students in Grades 9-12 only. All the examples, case studies, language, and content are created specifically for high school students (ages 14-18) who are dealing with academic pressures, social media, peer group dynamics, forming their identity, and normal neurodevelopmental changes in the developing teenage brain. This material is inappropriate for middle school students (too mature) or college students (too teen-focused). Anxiety Management & Stress-Relief Breathing Exercise Worksheets

Anxiety Management & Stress-Relief Breathing Exercise Worksheets
STEM, Special Resources, Life Skills, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Social Skills, Special Education Needs (SEN), Speech Therapy, Science, Life Sciences, Human Body, Homeschool Curriculum, Homeschool Templates, Grade 6, 7, 8, 9, Worksheets & Printables, Word Problems, Worksheets, Workbooks, Word Searches, Teacher Tools, Lesson Plans, Quizzes and Tests, Quizzes, Tests

This complete resource for anxiety management & stress relief using breathing exercise worksheets includes everything needed for middle school students. It is designed to be both printable (digital/electronic) and neuroscience-based and consists of 41 pages of student worksheets, real-world case studies, fill in the blank knowledge checks and numerous practical breathing protocols (Box Breathing, 4-7-8 Breath, Resonant Breathing, Physiological Sigh, Extended Exhale, Alternate Nostril Breathing and 5-4-3-2-1 Sensory Grounding) along with teacher answer keys, conceptual visuals and a full trauma informed implementation guide. This curriculum teaches students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades to interrupt amygdala hijacks, switch from the sympathetic "fight, flight or freeze" to the parasympathetic "rest and digest" and develop lifelong emotional resilience through the science of somatic agency, vagus nerve stimulation, neuroplasticity and autonomic nervous system regulation. This PDF product is perfect for school counseling, advisory periods, special education and homeschool implementation. There is no prep work necessary for immediate implementation in the classroom or at home. Keywords: anxiety worksheets for middle school students, breathing exercises for relieving stress for teens, anxiety management neuroscience based printable, somatic breathing toolkit, middle school social emotional learning curriculum, tools for testing anxiety, breathing activities for social anxiety. Parents & Teachers Love This Program Because: Science Supported but Student Friendly: This program teaches students the real science (amygdala, vagus nerve, heartbeat, myelination) behind their feelings in a way that helps them stop blaming themselves for the way they feel and begins to help them take charge of who they are by understanding how their body works. No Prep, Ready to Use: The program comes with student worksheets/answer keys, teacher projectables/visuals, and teacher implementation guides (these guides include trauma informed scripts) for busy community counselors, social-emotional teachers, and parents to use to implement this program with ease. The Efficacy of the Program has been Proven over and over Again Through the Use of the Program Addresses Multiple Anxiety Triggers (such as academic tests, social/cafeterias, digital overstimulation, athletic performance, and sleep difficulties) in multiple ways along with the use of protocols which work in real-world education settings. Creates Resilience Long-term: This program teaches daily habits and neuroplasticity, enabling the student to not only survive through anxiety attacks but also rewire their brain to have a calmer baseline state. An Inclusive and Trauma Informed Program: The program includes opt-out options, soft gazing instead of closing your eyes (making it safe for all students), and addresses the awkwardness associated with these activities, therefore making it safe and respectful for all students! Designation of Eligible Student Group (Overall Analysis of Document): The full curriculum covers the department for the 6th-8th grades (a.k.a. middle school or early adolescent age ~ 11-14). All research studies used in the curriculum have both 7th and 8th graders; the neurobiology part discusses the “development mismatch” between an adolescent’s limbic system and their prefrontal cortex; and every worksheet is designed for the life of a middle school student (i.e. school-themed exams, cafeteria social anxiety, hallway anxiety, sports pressure, digital anxiety). Therefore, the program is inappropriate for elementary students (too advanced) or high school students (language and examples are appropriate for the maturity level of students in grades 6-8). Mixed Numbers Recipe Doubling – Real-World Math

Mixed Numbers Recipe Doubling – Real-World Math
Math, Fractions, Grade 4, 5, 6, 7, Worksheets & Printables, Word Problems, Activities

Butter Tart Recipe (based on my grandma's actual delicious family recipe!) Here is a real-life example to help students practice adding and multiplying mixed numbers and improper fractions. When students ask, "When will we ever use this in real-life?!" you can show them this lesson and say that working with fractions is so common in baking. This delicious activity will allow students to practice using fractions with a realistic everyday example: baking! Students will take a recipe that has several fractions in it and double it. Half a cup of something becomes a cup and 3/4 of a cup becomes 1 and a half cups. After that, they need to figure out how much of each ingredient would be needed if the recipe was made five times bigger (perhaps in a bakery setting or for a large event). I encourage my students to use different strategies to complete this task: drawing pictures with squares, repeated addition, or multiplication. Boxes for diagrams and math calculations are included to encourage students to show their work. You could even have different students come up to show their personal strategies to the rest of the class. As an extension, students can bring in their own recipes from home in the next class and double them or multiply them by five as well. You might even want to actually make something tasty to eat too! What's Included: A total of 5 pages in PDF: Title Page 2 page assignment 2 page answer key Check out some of my other hands-on math activities. Search for my store: Grace Under Pressure Whole Class Decimal Place Value Game: Tenths to Millionths Math Representation: Percent, Ratio, Fractions, Decimals Posters (Culminating Activity) Algebra: Modelling Equations: Visual Balance Scale Sheet Geometry Project: Transformation Design Project with Rubric Math Project: Circle Graphs and Pie Charts
