St Patricks Day Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

St Patricks Day Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

St Patricks Day Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this St. Patrick's Day vocabulary puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our March unit. The kids loved the holiday but had no idea what words like shamrock, leprechaun, or blarney meant when we read about Irish traditions. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like St. Patrick, shamrock, leprechaun, gold, rainbow, pot, luck, green, clover, March, Ireland, Irish, parades, blarney, and tradition. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the St. Patrick's vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether leprechauns are real or just stories. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple shamrock, rainbow, and pot of gold drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a leprechaun trap on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Life Science word search, scramble and crossword puzzle activity ⭐ I made this Parts of a Flower puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our plants unit. The kids were mixing up "stamen" and "pistil" constantly so I needed something low stress. It's a word search and a word scramble, both using flower vocabulary like petal, sepal, ovary, anther, and pollen. ⭐ The PDF is three pages. Two puzzles and one answer key. I didn't add much clip art because my students get distracted easily. Just a simple flower drawing. The word scramble is the one they actually like better because they feel smart when they figure out "pollen" or "nectar" on their own. ⭐ I use these for early finishers or as a quiet activity after lunch. No prep. Print and go. Sometimes I have them pick one word and draw a quick picture next to it. Works for 2nd through 4th grade.

Fruits and Vegetables word search, scramble and crossword ⭐I made this fruits and vegetables puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our nutrition unit. The kids could name junk food all day but froze when I asked them to list vegetables. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like apple, banana, carrot, broccoli, lettuce, tomato, potato, grapes, and spinach. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help them learn the names. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they mix up letters in "broccoli" or argue whether tomato is a fruit or vegetable. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple apple and carrot drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to pick their favorite fruit and vegetable and write one sentence about each on the back. The kids actually enjoy these.

Neighborhood Helpers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this neighborhood helpers puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our community unit. The kids knew about police and firefighters but had no idea what words like crossing guard, sanitation worker, or doctor meant when we talked about people who help us. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like police, firefighter, teacher, doctor, nurse, crossing guard, sanitation worker, mail carrier, librarian, dentist, and vet. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the helpers vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a mail carrier is the same as a mailman. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple police hat, fire truck, and mail bag drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name their favorite community helper and why on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Spelling Patterns -tion-sion word search, scramble and crossword puzzl
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Spelling Patterns -tion-sion word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this spelling patterns puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our word study unit. The kids could read words like "nation" and "television" but had no idea when to use -tion versus -sion. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using -tion words like nation, action, attention, direction, fiction, fraction, mention, option, question, and vacation, and -sion words like television, division, decision, explosion, invasion, mission, passion, permission, session, and vision. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the spelling patterns finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "discussion" ends with -sion or -tion. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple star and pencil drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list two -tion words and two -sion words on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
