Landforms Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Landforms Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Landforms Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this landforms puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our geography unit. The kids could point to a hill or a river but got lost when I threw in words like plateau, canyon, or delta. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like mountain, hill, valley, canyon, plateau, plain, desert, island, peninsula, coast, delta, river, lake, ocean, volcano, and cave. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over the difference between a peninsula and an island. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple mountain and river drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick three landforms and draw a tiny landscape on the back. The kids actually ask for these now. For a change from the puzzles, try a geography crossword and discuss the clues together.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the electronics vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. Numbers 1–100 word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this numbers 1–100 puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our math unit. The kids could count but got tripped up on the tricky number words like "forty" versus "fourteen" or "eighty" versus "eighteen." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using numbers twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety, one hundred, and mixed teens like fourteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, and nineteen. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the number word patterns finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "forty" has a U like "four." The crossword I use for partners with number clues. I added a couple simple number chart and star drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the missing number words for 70, 80, and 90 on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Global Warming and Climate Change word search, scramble and crossword

Global Warming and Climate Change word search, scramble and crossword

Global Warming and Climate Change word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this global warming and climate change puzzle set for my 4th graders during our Earth science unit. The kids had heard the terms on TV but couldn't explain what they actually meant or how they were different. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like global warming, climate change, temperature, greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, fossil fuels, melting, sea level, drought, flood, weather, atmosphere, pollution, and renewable. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary make sense without scaring them. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether one hot summer means global warming is real. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple thermometer and Earth drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list two things people can do to help on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
