Continents and Oceans word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Continents and Oceans word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Continents and Oceans word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this continents and oceans puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our geography unit. The kids could name a few continents but kept mixing up Africa and Antarctica or forgetting the oceans entirely. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Australia, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern, Arctic, equator, hemisphere, and map. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the names and locations stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over whether Australia is a country or a continent. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple world map outlines but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list all seven continents on the back and circle the one we live on. The kids actually ask for these now.

ASL Numbers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

ASL Numbers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

ASL Numbers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this ASL numbers puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our language and culture unit. The kids were curious about counting in sign language but had no idea how the handshapes changed from 1 to 20 or what made 6 different from 9. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using numbers like one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, and twenty. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the number vocabulary finally stick and to get them practicing the handshapes while they were at it . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the sign for 6 and 9 are the same but upside down, or why 11–15 use that little flicking motion . The crossword I use for partners or as a review after a signing practice session. I added a couple simple hand shape illustrations to show palm orientation for numbers 1–5 but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers practice signing their age to a partner on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Time Telling Time word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Time Telling Time word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Time Telling Time word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this time telling puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our math unit. The kids could read a digital clock but had no idea how to read an analog clock or what words like hour hand, minute hand, or half past meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like clock, analog, digital, hour hand, minute hand, face, numbers, hour, minute, o'clock, half past, quarter past, quarter to, AM, PM, and elapsed time. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the time vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about which hand is longer. The crossword I use for partners with clock face clues. I added a couple simple clock and watch drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a clock showing 3:00 on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
