Famous Artists word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this famous artists puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our art unit. The kids knew a few names like Picasso and Van Gogh but had no idea about artists like Frida Kahlo, Michelangelo, or Warhol, or what they were famous for. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like da Vinci, Van Gogh, Picasso, Michelangelo, Monet, Dali, Kahlo, Pollock, Matisse, Rembrandt, Warhol, and Cezanne. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the artist names and art vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or art class. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether Monet painted Water Lilies or if da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple paint palette, brush, and color wheel drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one artist and write one famous artwork they created on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Winter Preschool Literacy Worksheets

Preschoolers will have a ton of fun with these winter themed literacy worksheets. These preschool worksheets focus on letter recognition, letter formation, and prewriting skills. What is Included: Alphabet Mazes - There are two alphabet mazes, one for capital letters and one for lowercase letters. Students will go through the maze by coloring or dotting the snowflake from A to Z. Apple Emergent Reader - There is one emergent reader where students count snowflakes and fill in the blanks with the correct number. Missing Letters - The student will write the missing letter in each letter sequence. Alphabet Cut and Paste - Students will cut out the lowercase letters and glue them next to their corresponding capital letter. Letter Sort - Students will sort letters by whether they are capital letters or lowercase letters. Prewriting Lines - There are two prewriting worksheets. In the first worksheet, students will trace straight lines in a variety of directions from left to right. On the second worksheet, students will trace a variety of lines from left to right, including curves and zigzags. Letter Tracing - There are 6 handwriting worksheets for students to practice writing capital letters and lowercase letters. Back to School: My Summer Reflection and Goal Setting for 2023-2024 and beyond!

Here's a great first-week activity for your elementary students. They reflect on what they did over the summer, set some goals for the year, and have the option to illustrate their summer activities or draw a self portrait. This could be an easy way for students to introduce themselves to one another, and hanging all of these around your classroom could make a beautiful display! ***This product looks best when printed in colour*** How to Use: Once you students have played some ice breaker games, learned the class rules and routines, and met one another, you can start to ask them to think about what they did over the summer. Remind your students this does not just include trips and travelling! Helping their parents in the vegetable garden, finding shells at the beach, reading a new book from the library, or teaching a younger sibling to ride a bike are all amazing summer memories. The coolest thing they saw could have been a shooting star, a beautiful flower, or an amazing float in a summer parade. This activity should not be about comparing who went on the fanciest trip. Then, spend some time talking about goal setting. You can mention SMART goals: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Maybe one or two goals should be about curriculum and one should be social. Help your students start to think of meaningful goals. (Have your students write the school year ex: 2023-2024 at the top of each page.) Grades to Use With: This printable works well in grades 2-6 or in special education classrooms. They kept asking questions like "what's a didgeridoo?" or "why do they do dot paintings?" so I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Dreamtime, totem, didgeridoo, boomerang, woomera, corroboree, ochre, kinship, elders, Country, and bark painting . I also threw in a few like "billabong" and "coolamon" because they came up in the picture books we were reading . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about what a woomera is (it's a spear thrower, not a dance) or whether a didgeridoo is just a hollow log . These acorn themed alphabet maze worksheets are the perfect activity to help students recognize lowercase letters. These pages are designed to be completed with dot markers for an added fine motor component. What is Included: This resource includes one lowercase letter worksheets for each letter of the alphabet. There are several ways to use these worksheets: Students will look at the letter on the acorn in the top right hand corner of the page. Students will then use dot markers to dot the follow the maze. Students can use mini erasers or other small manipulatives to cover the target letter. Students can use stickers to cover the letter. Students can use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color the acorns that contain the correct letter. The teacher can laminate the worksheets and students can use dry erase markers to mark the correct letter. When to Use: Literacy Center : The teacher can place these worksheets in a literacy center for students to complete. Morning Work: These worksheets make a great, easy to set up activity for students to complete as classmates arrive to class. Quiet Time Activity: Students who do not nap can complete these worksheets while their classmates rest. Homework: These worksheets are an easy to assign homework activity for students to complete with parents. Small Group Activity: Teachers can call aside small groups of students who need more help with letter recognition to complete these in a small group setting. These worksheets are no-prep. The teacher just needs to print the pages and give them to students to complete. Laminating is only required if the teacher wishes to create a write and wipe activity. Skills Assessed: These alphabet letter maze worksheets assess students' ability to identify and match lowercase letters. Students can also work on fine motor skills by using dot markers or small manipulatives to complete these pages.

Latin American observance word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity Latin American Observances Word Scramble - Cultural Learning Activity I developed this word scramble for my 5th grade social studies class when we studied Latin American holidays. It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 scrambled terms related to celebrations across the region - from "CincoDeMayo" to "DiaDeMuertos." The activity includes: Common observances like "Carnaval" and "Quinceañera" Cultural terms such as "piñata" and "mariachi" Historical events including "GritoDeDolores" I used this last October when teaching about Day of the Dead. My students worked in pairs to unscramble the words while we listened to traditional Mexican music. The mix of Spanish and English terms (all at about a 5th grade level) made it accessible but still challenging.
