6th Grade Inequality Matching Game – 32 Cards
Algebra, Math, Number Lines, Grade 6, 7, Worksheets & Printables, Activities, Games
Teaching your students about how to write and evaluate inequalities in algebra can sometimes end up being a bit dry. Try adding this game to your algebra unit to bring a little movement and collaboration to your classroom. It's a super simple game: just print the cards and cut them out. There are 32 cards in 16 pairs. Deal one card to each student in your class. They should spend half a minute looking at their card and thinking of other ways it could be represented. For example, if they have a number line: what inequality does it show? If they have an inequality, could it be simplified? Then, all the students get up and move around the room (SILENTLY!). They can use gestures while looking at each others' cards and trying to find their match. Pairs move to the side of the room until everyone is matched up. It's that simple! Of course, you could also use these cards for a standard memory game where you flip two cards at a time and try to find matches. I have also included a second set of cards that have pairs of fractions and decimals (for example 1/20 and 0.05). Grades to Use With: These cards are designed to target the standard 6EE.B.8 in grade six classrooms, but they could also be an excellent quick review in grades 7 and 8! What's Included: 9 Page PDF: Title/Instruction Page 4 Pages of Inequality Cards 4 Pages of Fractions and Decimal Cards If you enjoy this product, check out other 6th Grade Algebra Activities in my store: Pre-Algebra Problem: The Wave Pool with Expressions, Tables, and Graphs Algebra: Modelling Equations: Visual Balance Scale Worksheet Exponent Board Game Independent and Dependent Variables in 6th Grade Math: Hockey Math Middle School Math Stations: Early Algebra

Extreme Weather Writing Challenge | Types, Effects & Resilience
ELA, Writing, Creative Writing, Grammar, Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Getting kids to enjoy writing during the early elementary years is key. One way we can do that is to tie in their interests to the writing process. Extreme weather is a topic many learners are fascinated by, but the effects of these events can make for a daunting lesson. Keep an eye out for the helpers (as Mr. Rogers would say), as learners craft their own stories of weather events followed by images of community resilience. Including the appropriate sequence of events, as well as a conflict is key. Thinking about the way we think is a foundational skill for growing the executive functions our kiddos will use in the editing process. For this reason, a short checklist has been included at the end of page 4 so that learners can begin to go back and check their work. This key skill in developing healthy executive functioning is intentionally made visible to students to prompt ownership over the quality of their writing. STANDARDS: Meets CCSS Writing standards for grades 2-5. Don't forget to check out the Chef's Toolbox, Superhero's Toolbox, and Astronaut's Toolbox activities for more fun! These activities can be used with a whole class in addition to the writing challenge printable. This printable is optimal for 2nd-5th graders who enjoy learning about space and demonstrating their knowledge of it. By using the included matrix to choose the setting, challenge, and characters in their story, they'll use the freedom afforded them to create something they love. *Note, some learners may require a basic explanation of what stocks, investments, and savings accounts are. BONUS: Take advantage of the 4 extension activity ideas included in this printable. These activities will take their writing beyond the page and bring it to life in STEAM-supported outlets. What you'll get: a 4 page PDF including instructions, extension activity ideas, and 3 student pages. One of these pages is simply writing space for you to print off as many copies as you need based on the amount your students are writing. You'll also find the editing checklist to prompt students to edit their own work for spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.

Common Core Math Activities For Grade 3
Common Core, Grade 3, Worksheets & Printables
During third grade, the main focus of teaching time should be on four key areas: (1) building comprehension of multiplication and division, as well as tactics for multiplication and division up to 100; (2) building comprehension of fractions, specifically unit fractions (fractions with a numerator of 1); (3) building comprehension of the patterns in rectangular arrays and area; and (4) describing and examining two-dimensional shapes. Students gain insight into the concepts of multiplication and division of whole numbers by participating in tasks that focus on equal-sized groups, arrays, and area models. In these scenarios, multiplication involves identifying a mystery product, while division involves determining a mystery factor. Students can understand the connection between multiplication and division by examining different solution methods. Students start learning about fractions by first focusing on unit fractions. Students can utilize fractions to signify numbers that are equivalent to, smaller than, and larger than one. They address issues by analyzing fractions through visual models and strategies that identify equal numerators or denominators. Students identify area as a characteristic of two-dimensional areas. Students connect area to multiplication by breaking rectangles down into arrays of squares, and they support using multiplication to find the area of a rectangle. Students talk about, examine, and contrast characteristics of two-dimensional shapes. Shapes are compared and categorized based on their sides and angles, and then linked to shape definitions. Students connect their fraction work to geometry by representing the area of a portion of a shape as a unit fraction of the entire shape.

Number Family Connections Building on previous lessons, students construct four possible equations using three related numbers. 5. Number Lines Students explore how adding and subtracting the same number returns them to the starting point, illustrating the inverse relationship. How many Worksheets in each Set ? Almost unlimited At the click of a button all numbers are randomised, so the questions change every time. This will allow you to create as many new worksheets you will need for practice throughout the year (classwork, homework, revision, fillers etc) or even give small groups of students in your class different sets of questions either at the same level or differentiated. There will certainly be enough to ensure fluency in this topic. As these worksheets need little explanation, they are ideal if you need to leave work for a replacement teacher. Answers can be found on the second page of every worksheet, automatically generated when you create a new worksheet. Note These resources are PDF documents and work with the official Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows or Mac computers with the randomising buttons also working via a touchscreen (PC or Mac)or on an Interactive Whiteboard. Common Core: K.OA.A.1, K.OA.A.3

Science Reading Comprehension Passage and Questions: Seeing Color (Word) This very engaging science reading passage is about how people see color . It covers how white light contains many wavelengths, how objects reflect some wavelengths and absorb others, how a prism uses refraction to separate white light into the visible spectrum, and how cone cells in the eye and the brain help create the experience of color. The visuals on page 1 also support this by showing a classroom changing with light, an apple reflecting/absorbing light, and a prism separating white light into colors.
