There are 2 pages for each number – The main worksheet and a page with puzzle pieces that need to be cut out and pasted on the worksheet. Each student will need a copy of both pages. There is also a “Back of Puzzle Pieces” page. This needs to be printed on the reverse side of all puzzle pieces pages. There are 2 printing options – colour or black and white You can also mix and match the colour and black and white pages. Here is a simple, fun, print n' play phonic game to help children learn the split digraph a-e. Your pupils will learn in no time with this easy-to-play game! This is a game for 2 players. The pack included both colour and black and white versions. Laminate the colour version for durability and sen the black and white version home for extra practice. Who can use the a-e phonic Game? Teachers, Parents home-educators Private Tutors Anyone who needs it! Aim of the game: ·To demonstrate how the short vowel sound /a/ changes when ‘e’ is added to make /ae/. ·To give the child plenty of practice recognising the difference between /a/ words and /ae/ words. How to play: Place the picture/word cards in a pile and put the ‘e’ cards neatly on the table. Players take turns to take a spot card from the feely bag. A green spot means that the player should take the topmost picture/word card from the pile and place it in front of him/her. S/he must then decide (by reading the word, sounding out if necessary) whether or not this word requires an ‘e’ or not to change the /a/ to /ae/. If needed the ‘e’ should be added and the card set aside by the player. If not, the word should be placed likewise. Should a red spot be picked, the player must miss a turn. The winner is the player with the most completed cards when al the cards have been used up. Should a player add an ‘e’ when it is not needed, or fail to add one when it is needed should/would/could lose the card, should the teacher deem it helpful to the child. In some cases, the teacher may allow the child help and let the child keep the card once corrected. This is at the teacher's discretion bearing in mind the needs of each child. Teaching tips: This game provides the opportunity for the pupil and teacher to see just where there are problems - listen out for the ‘messages’ in a pupil’s hesitation, his/her misreading of a word so that it does not describe the picture, or thoughtlessness in studying the word and picture carefully to decide about the need, or not, of the ‘e’. These are all indicators of understanding. discipline is required too as the pupil realises that letters in words and spelling are important. For many pupils, this is a new discovery. ‘Look what you have done to ‘hat’! You have changed it into ‘hate’ by putting ‘e’ on the end! This states the problem and for many pupils is the key to sorting out whether an ‘e’ is needed or not. Included: 1 PDF file with 1 game in both colour and black and white.

This letter K beginning sounds and handwriting activity includes real photographs to practice learning to recognize, write and identify the sound of the letter L. Each picture has bold colors and includes easily recognized pictures. Each activity can be used in a literacy center for students to practice letter recognition. What is Included: There is an instructional page with printing instructions. There are letter L posters with various letter L words. There are handwriting task cards that allow students to practice writing the letter L as well as words that begin with the letter L. There are beginning sound clip cards that allow students to practice clipping the images that begin with the letter L. There is a sorting activity where you sort pictures that begins with K from words that do not begin with L. The letter K sorting cards that can also be used to play memory, matching, or concentration games. These cards can also be used during a lesson in a pocket chart as well as for a center display. When to Use: All of the activities make great literacy centers, by placing each set of activities in the center and letting students complete activities alone or with a partner. These activities make great morning tub activities. Just place these activities in morning bins for students to complete as their classmates arrive to class. Skills Assessed: These activities assess letter recognition skills, beginning sounds, handwriting, and sorting skills. Each activity in this set is low prep. Each activity just needs to be printed out, cut apart, and laminated if desired. When you laminate the writing cards, you can create a writing center activity that is reusable is you add dry erase markers. The handwriting cards and beginning sound clip cards can be turned into task box activities.

These gardening themed number cards are perfect for students who are learning with a spring theme. They make the perfect tool for students to learn numbers up to 20. What is Included: This set includes one number card and one number word card for all numbers up to 20. Ideas for Using the Number Cards: Invite students to play a matching activity by pairing each number with its corresponding number word. Turn the cards into a hands on fishing game by attaching paper clips and using a magnetic fishing rod for students to “catch” the numbers. Place the cards in a sand or salt tray so students can trace or write the numbers and number words for tactile practice. Hide the cards around the classroom and have students go on a number scavenger hunt to find and identify each one. Are you looking for fun activities for practicing number recognition? These pixel art worksheets are perfect for getting your students to practice number identification for the number 0! Different options for how to use this resource: Cut and paste You can choose to print the colour square pages on white paper. -This is the simplest option, but it will take a lot of colour ink. Or you can choose to print the black line squares pages on colour paper. -This will use a lot less ink, but it will take a little more work to prepare. -You may struggle to find colour paper in all the colours I have used. If you have a problem finding the right colours, you can generally substitute a different colour if you need to. Simply look at the answer key to see what the pictures are and choose an appropriate substitute colour. Colour by number You will only need to print the worksheets and allow the students to colour the squares themselves. Preparation: Worksheets 3 printing options: 1. Full colour - best if you will be able to use all the same colours that I have used. 2. Partial colour – I have left the colours blank. You will need to tell your students what colours to use for each number before they can start the activity . This is best if you need to make some substitutions because you are printing on colour paper and cannot find all the correct colours. 3.
