These mats help with reading comprehension skills as well as reading one and two syllable words. Included in this resource: 1 AGE word sentence mat Picture cards corresponding to the mat for matching purposes To complete this activity , students will read each AGE word sentence on the mat and then match the corresponding pictures. Students can work independently or with a partner, providing opportunities for cooperative learning. There are several ways to use these AGE word CVCe word family mats: Lay the images on top of the word or sentence. Utilize hook and loop fasteners to attach the images. Use a baking sheet and magnets to match the images. Students will appreciate the hands-on nature of this activity , as they can manipulate the images for a hands-on approach to show their learning.
