These frog themed alphabet cards are perfect for students who are learning in the spring season. They make the perfect tool for students to learn the letters of the alphabet. What is Included: This set includes one capital letter card and one lowercase letter card for each letter. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the capital letters to the lowercase letters. Attach a paper clip to a letter card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the letters for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the letters on each card. Have students find the letters that you have hidden around the room for a fun letter hunt. Place the letter cards in alphabetical order. Create a pocket char game where you place the cards on a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the letters. The students will guess which letter the hidden picture is behind. Add objects that begin with each letter for students to match to each letter card. When to Use: Literacy Center - Place the cards in a literacy center for students to match independently or with a partner. Morning Tubs or Baskets - Place the cards in a morning bin for students to work on while their classmates arrive to class. Small Group Activities - The teacher can pull aside a small group of students who need extra practice identifying letters to use these cards. This kangaroos reading comprehension contains the following: Visualize on the Cover (Teacher Read Aloud Script) Start your lesson by taking a few moments to visualize the topic and share thoughts or feelings about it. Pre-Reading Trivia Students will write down one thing they already know about the subject and then read five more facts and discuss. These facts are fun, and the students will enjoy learning about the subject before reading more. Reading Passage The text is a high-interest reading passage with set paragraphs, roughly three to four paragraphs long. It contains a variety of themes about the topic, anywhere from history to technology. The passage is between 250 and 350 words in length. Mixed Questions The first question page contains four multiple-choice questions, each with a choice of four answers, and three written response questions that require a sentence or two from the student. Vocabulary Questions Practice seven key words from the text in this section across two activities. First section is scrambled words where students will unscramble three words given a clue for each. The second section is a word to meaning matching activity. Creative Writing In this question, the student will be required to write a five to eight sentence paragraph on a question related to the topic. Extension Activities This page is optional for fast finishers or to take home. There are several activities, each one requiring a different skill. Do some, do none, do all, completely optional - but you will feel reassured knowing every possibility is planned for. Includes summary writting question. Answer Key There are answers for the multiple-choice questions, written response questions have sample answers, vocabulary answers and if there is a summary question then a sample summary will be provided as well. Fruit Picture-to-Word Matching Game | PowerPoint (PreK–1)

I made this fruit picture-to-word matching game as a simple digital activity for early literacy practice. Students click to match each fruit picture with its word. The levels start small with just 3 pairs and gradually increase to 10 pairs, so it works for a range of ability levels and attention spans. Each level includes three versions, which helps keep it from feeling repetitive. This digital game includes: memory levels from 3 to 10 pairs three variations of each level a one-player option a two-player version with a simple scoreboard a PowerPoint Show file (.ppsx) directions built right into the game The fruit vocabulary includes apple, pear, peach, plum, grapes, lemon, kiwi, cherries, banana, orange, watermelon, grapefruit, blueberries, and pineapple. I’ve actually played the highest level with another adult, and it was surprisingly challenging for us (maybe that says something about older brains!). The increasing number of cards really does make a difference. There’s nothing to print or set up. Just open the file and start playing. Important: This game uses PowerPoint animations (including “disappear” effects) and is designed to run in the desktop version of Microsoft PowerPoint. It will not function correctly in Google Slides or in browser-based versions of PowerPoint.

Spring Alphabet Clip Cards

Kindergarteners and preschoolers will have a blast practicing letter recognition with these spring alphabet clip cards. Students will get tons exposure to matching capital and lowercase letters as well as building fine motor skills by using clothes clips to identify each letter. What is Included: Each letter has four clip cards, for a total of 104 clip cards. Activities included with these clip cards are matching a capital letter to the same capital letter, matching a lowercase letter to the same lowercase letter and matching a capital letter with its corresponding lowercase letter. How to Use: To use these clip cards, students will need to use a clip or some other manipulative to mark each clip card. Students will look at the letter on each heart card and then clip or cover the letter that matches the letter on the flower. The teacher may choose to use other objects, like counters, bingo chips or mini erasers to identify each correct answer. The clip cards can be laminated so students can mark their correct responses with dry erase. Where to Use: Fine Motor or Literacy Center - Simply place the clip cards and clips inside the center for students to complete. Morning Tubs or Baskets - These clip cards can be placed in a morning bin for students to work on while their classmates to arrive to school. Task Boxes - By placing these clip cards in task boxes, the teacher will have an easy to set up activity for students that they can easily complete and clean up on their own. Skills Assessed Recognizing and identifying letters that are capital and lowercase Matching a capital or lowercase letter to their letter counterpart Fine Motor Skills with marking their answers with clips These spring alphabet clip cards are a low prep activity for teachers to assign to students. The cards just need to be printed out and cut apart before students can complete them.
