Four densely detailed posters trace Australia's European colonisation from 1800 to 1900 across settlement, resources, infrastructure and immigration. The first poster maps each colony's founding, self-government and capital-city dates on a shared 1800-to-1900 timeline. The second follows the gold, silver, opal, sapphire and diamond finds that drove economic growth, naming specific towns and discovery years such as Bathurst in 1851 and Kalgoorlie in 1893. A third poster contrasts Indigenous travel and communication methods with the colonial telegraph network and transport routes, including Cobb & Co and coastal shipping. The fourth maps where immigrants arrived from -- including Chinese, Afghan, Italian, Irish, German, Scottish and Pacific Islander communities -- with the date and reason each group settled.
