Percentages Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Percentages Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this percentages vocabulary puzzle set for my 5th graders during our math unit. The kids had heard of 50% off sales but had no idea what percent meant or how it related to fractions and decimals. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like percent, percentage, out of 100, fraction, decimal, equivalent, convert, part, whole, 100%, half, quarter, tenth, discount, interest, and increase. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the percent terms finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether 50% means half of something. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple 100 grid and sale tag drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write 25% as a fraction and a decimal on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Indigenous People of Canada word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Indigenous People of Canada word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Indigenous Peoples of Canada puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our social studies unit. The kids had some knowledge but kept mixing up "First Nations," "Inuit," and "Métis" or didn't understand that these are three distinct groups with their own unique cultures, languages, and histories . I wanted to build their vocabulary around these foundational terms without overwhelming them, so I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Indigenous, First Nations, Inuit, Métis, Nation, Treaty, Turtle Island, Elders, powwow, and culture . I also made sure to include "Inuk" as the singular form for Inuit because the kids always ask about that . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between "First Nations" and "Aboriginal" (I gently explain that "Indigenous" is now the preferred collective term, while "Aboriginal" is still used in some legal contexts but many find it outdated) . The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've studied the map of Inuit Nunangat or looked at traditional territories. I added a couple simple feather, drum, and inukshuk drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one word from the puzzles and write a sentence about what it means on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Biology Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this biology vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our life science unit. The kids could name animals and plants but got lost when I threw in words like cell, tissue, or organ. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like biology, cell, tissue, organ, organ system, organism, plant, animal, microbe, bacteria, fungi, protist, life cycle, and reproduce. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the basic building blocks of life stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a tree is an organism. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple cell and leaf drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick three words and write one sentence about living things on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Cinco de Mayo word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Cinco de Mayo vocabulary puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our May cultural unit. The kids loved the celebration but had no idea what words like battle, victory, or independence meant when we learned about the history behind the day. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Cinco de Mayo, May, battle, victory, Mexico, Puebla, independence, celebration, parade, music, dance, food, culture, and heritage. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Cinco de Mayo vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether Cinco de Mayo is Mexico's Independence Day. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple flag, sombrero, and maraca drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one fact about the Battle of Puebla on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Life Cycle of a Bean Plant word search, scramble and crossword puzzles
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Life Science word search, scramble and crossword puzzle activity ⭐ I made this bean plant life cycle activity for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our spring science unit. The kids were mixing up "germination" and "seedling" so I needed something low pressure but still useful. It's a word search and a word scramble combined on one page. Nothing fancy. ⭐ The PDF is two pages — one student page and one answer key. I added a tiny seed drawing but kept it simple so it prints fine in black and white. The scramble trips them up on "cotyledon" every time which is actually good because then they ask and remember it. Word search is easier so I use that one for early finishers. ⭐ Works for grades 2 through 4. Print and go. Sometimes I tell them to pick one word and draw the stage it belongs to on the back. Takes about 15 minutes depending on the kid. They like it better than a worksheet.

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Japanese Culture Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Japanese culture vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our global studies unit. The kids had heard of sushi and karate, but they had no idea what words like kimono, origami, or tatami meant when we looked at pictures of daily life in Japan . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like kimono, obi, origami, bonsai, tatami, samurai, ninja, sumo, kendo, ikebana, haiku, manga, anime, sushi, ramen, sake, koi, kabuki, kami, onsen, kotatsu, and bento. I also threw in a few like karaoke, tsunami, and kanji because they kept coming up in our conversations . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about how to spell "kimono" or whether "tatami" is a floor mat or something else . The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've looked at pictures of Japanese art, food, and clothing . I added a couple simple origami crane, cherry blossom, and lantern drawings but nothing too busy . Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one word from the puzzle and write a sentence about what it is on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the transition signal words finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "meanwhile" means at the same time or later. The crossword I use for partners. Perimeter and Area word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this perimeter and area puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our measurement unit. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like perimeter, area, distance, around, outside, inside, cover, square units, length, width, side, add, multiply, rectangle, and formula. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the difference finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether you add or multiply to find perimeter. The crossword I use for partners with shape clues. I added a couple simple rectangle drawings with numbers on sides and shaded inside for area but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go.
