Healthy Relationships word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Healthy Relationships word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this healthy relationships puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our social-emotional learning unit. The kids could say someone was a good friend but had no idea what words like trust, respect, or communicate meant when we talked about what makes relationships healthy. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like trust, respect, communicate, listen, share, care, support, honest, and fair. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the relationship vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a good relationship means you always agree. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple heart, handshake, and talking face drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one quality of a healthy friendship on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Story Structure Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this story structure puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our reading unit. The kids could retell a story but had no idea what words like exposition, rising action, or climax meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like beginning, middle, end, exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution, introduction, problem, solution, conflict, conclusion, plot diagram, and narrative. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the parts of a story finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the climax is the most exciting part. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple mountain shape and book drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a story mountain on the back and label the parts. The kids actually ask for these now.

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Refugee Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this refugee vocabulary puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our social studies unit on global communities. The kids had heard of refugees but had no idea what words like refugee, asylum, or resettle meant when we talked about people who had to leave their homes. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like refugee, asylum, resettle, shelter, safety, journey, hope, war, peace, home, flee, escape, volunteer, and community. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between a refugee and an immigrant. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple boat, house, and heart drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one way they can welcome a newcomer on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
