They’ll try building a small model bomb shelter, design a propaganda poster, explore secret codes, work through math challenges based on evacuation trains, and investigate rationing and nutrition during the war. These US history bell-ringers give middle schoolers a calm, consistent way to begin class. Unit 4 gathers 45 short prompts on Modern America: 1920 to Today, arranged as nine weekly pages a teacher can hand out each Monday and collect on Friday. Each day asks something different - a vocabulary term used in context, a few sentences to read and answer, a short source or data set to interpret, a quick check, and a question that asks students to make a claim and back it with evidence. The variety keeps the routine from going stale while still reinforcing the 1920s, the Great Depression and the New Deal, World War II abroad and at home, the Cold War, the civil rights movement, Vietnam and a changing society, the end of the Cold War and the digital age, and a year-end review. Everything is print-first: a clean PDF that copies well, uses little ink, and needs no accounts or devices. A full answer key and a standards page (CCSS literacy in history and social studies) are included so planning and grading stay quick. Designed for grades 6-8, the prompts work as a daily opener, a spiral review, or a settle-in task while attendance is taken. The routine is the point: the same five-minute opener every day, so students settle without being asked twice. It prints cleanly in black and white, which keeps a full class set cheap to photocopy. Longtime fans have been asking us to make this long vowel resource for a while, and we have finally decided to take the plunge. It turned out to be a pretty awesome resource. First off, use the PDF based digital file to introduce these long vowel sounds to your students. You just open the file and show it full screen. Then use the arrow keys to go from one page to another. This way you can also stop the slideshow if something is too difficult for your students. After this, you can give them the digital multiple choice test. The correct answer will be circled in green and the incorrect ones are red. This makes it abundantly clear what the right answer is. But there are a bunch of printable files as well. How about the vocab lists en tests? And then there are the flash cards too, either with round or with sharp corners. All and all, a very complete resource to practice long vowel sounds.

Adding Tenths + Hundredths – 4th Grade Fractions

For educators and homeschoolers searching for a complete way for students to become proficient with adding 1/10th and 1/100ths, this resource will be a valuable asset! Designed with ease of use in mind, it offers no-prep scaffolded worksheets with and without visual support divided into 11 sets from ensuring a good foundation to challenges. The first six sets provide practice for preparation for the core work. Using the visual model of squares divided into 10 and 100 parts, students are asked to: find the fractions colored in (Set 1) color in the fraction indicated (Set 2) In Set 3 students practice looking for the visual connection between equivalent fractions given in 1/10ths and 1/100ths. Seeing 1/10 is the same as 10/100. is a pivotal point in the whole process. There is a simple Teaching Page included in the pack which you can use at this points to show the connection between 10ths and 100ths both visually and numerically (multiplying numerator and denominator by 10) which will prepare your students for Set 4 which has purely numerical questions. Sets 5 and 6 provide practice adding 1/100ths with and without visual support Sets 7, 8 & 9 are the core of the topic - adding a mix of 1/10ths & 100ths.
