Task Cards set is a versatile educational tool designed to meet the varied teaching needs of Grade 5 to Grade 7 students. It includes a total of 36 task cards crafted with exercises that simplify the understanding of the differences between expressions and equations in mathematics. This resource serves as both, a useful introduction for beginners and as reinforcement material for revising important mathematical terms. Create-A-Savings Story Writing Challenge |Saving, Spending, Generosity
ELA, Writing, Creative Writing, Grammar, Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Getting kids to enjoy writing during the early elementary years is key. One way we can do that is to tie in their interests to the writing process. Money can be a tricky topic to teach. Even so, we know kids need to be better prepared than we were with regards to financial literacy. Investing, spending, saving, and generosity are all twists and turns kids can take as they get their imaginations rolling! Including the appropriate sequence of events, as well as a conflict is key. Thinking about the way we think is a foundational skill for growing the executive functions our kiddos will use in the editing process. For this reason, a short checklist has been included at the end of page 4 so that learners can begin to go back and check their work. This key skill in developing healthy executive functioning is intentionally made visible to students to prompt ownership over the quality of their writing. STANDARDS: Meets CCSS Writing standards for grades 2-5. Don't forget to check out the Chef's Toolbox, Superhero's Toolbox, and Astronaut's Toolbox activities for more fun! These activities can be used with a whole class in addition to the writing challenge printable. This printable is optimal for 2nd-5th graders who enjoy learning about space and demonstrating their knowledge of it. By using the included matrix to choose the setting, challenge, and characters in their story, they'll use the freedom afforded them to create something they love. *Note, some learners may require a basic explanation of what stocks, investments, and savings accounts are. BONUS: Take advantage of the 4 extension activity ideas included in this printable. These activities will take their writing beyond the page and bring it to life in STEAM-supported outlets. What you'll get: a 4 page PDF including instructions, extension activity ideas, and 3 student pages. One of these pages is simply writing space for you to print off as many copies as you need based on the amount your students are writing. You'll also find the editing checklist to prompt students to edit their own work for spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.

Brain Burners Word Problems Packet
Math, Multiplication and Division, Division, Order Of Operations, Place Value, Grade 3, Worksheets & Printables, Word Problems, Worksheets
This is a Brain Burners Word Problem Packet. These word problems are designed to allow students to use their own strategies for problem solving, regardless of how far from “typical” they might seem to you as an educator. You will be amazed at the ways students will find to get to a right answer. There is not one right answer for any of these problems. Students will fill in the missing pieces of the problem before solving them using any strategy that makes sense in their own brains. I generally use these as morning self-starters 1 or 2 times per week. You’ll want to do the first few as a group, showing examples of students who thought of different strategies, and doing a lot of talking about what you expect a final product to look like. Many students might be lost for the first several problems, but after seeing their classmates’ work, they will catch on. The first 20 brain burners are technically geared toward using addition and subtraction strategies (NBT), but higher-level students might use multiplication and division strategies as well. The next 20 are meant to follow the OA curriculum where students will use multiplication and division, but lower-level students may still opt for addition and subtraction. Students should be encouraged, if not required, to show their thought processes through pictures, graphs, charts, and/or equations. I will usually call on a few students to show their strategies and explain them to the class each time I do a brain burner, thus giving the rest of the class new ideas for problem solving. There are two formats for you to choose from. I prefer my students to have plenty of room to work with, but I know paper conservation is also important.

OI: Phonics Workbook Reading Made Simple
Phonics, Language Development, ELA, Spelling, Kindergarten, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Reading Made Simple — Free OI Phonics Workbook These little workbooks have been a quiet favourite with families using Reading Made Simple for some time now. Each one focuses on a single sound and prints on just one sheet of A4 paper — double-sided, folded in half to make a neat A5 booklet that children can hold and work through at their own pace. They are entirely optional. The phonics programme works perfectly well without them, but many parents and teachers find them a useful companion — either as structured practice or simply as a source of ideas to dip into when needed. Tested by real children: One 5-year-old user is quoted as having said, 'The worksheet is the best bit of my lessons!' Other parents have noted that their child likes the worksheet because 'they think it is easy'. When learning is broken down into small, achievable steps, with no curve balls to throw them off track, every child can say, 'I can read!' When I hear these reviews, I know that I have succeeded in my aim to write a phonics curriculum that can help children of all abilities learn to read and spell. These little workbooks are just one small part of what there is to offer. Please do check out the website for more information. Each workbook offers a gentle mix of activities built around the target sound. Children will read short passages that practise the new sound alongside words from sounds already taught, track and identify the sound within words to support both reading and spelling, practise spelling and sentence writing, and work through simple editing exercises where they spot and correct mistakes. These small editing tasks are particularly worthwhile — they encourage children to look carefully at words rather than guessing from context. The workbooks are particularly well-suited to younger children just beginning their phonics journey, and to older children with special educational needs who are still building their foundational reading and spelling skills. That said, they will not suit every child. Some will find them too long, others too straightforward. Use your own judgement — pick the activities that fit, leave the rest, or set them aside entirely. There is no obligation and no right or wrong way to use them. To print: print double-sided, flipping on the short edge. Fold in half to create your A5 booklet. The answer page at the back is optional. One sheet of paper. One sound. Everything a child needs to practise, consolidate and grow in confidence.

English Language Arts Bell Ringers Unit 3 - 45 Warm-Ups (Grades 9-12)
Reading Comprehension, Reading, ELA, Strategies, Grade 9, 10, 11, 12, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
These English language arts bell-ringers give high schoolers a calm, consistent way to begin class. Unit 3 gathers 45 short prompts on Informational Text and Synthesis, arranged as nine weekly pages a teacher can hand out each Monday and collect on Friday. Each day asks something different - a term or academic word defined and then applied, a few sentences to read and answer, a short analysis task, a quick multiple-choice check, and a question that asks students to make a claim and back it with evidence. The variety keeps the routine from going stale while still reinforcing central idea and objective summary, nonfiction text structure, author's purpose and stance, source credibility, bias and framing, statistical claims, synthesizing across sources, research questions, and paraphrase versus plagiarism. Every reading passage in the set is original writing, and the only quoted material is a handful of public-domain Shakespeare lines, so there is no third-party text to clear. Everything is print-first: a clean PDF that copies well, uses little ink, and needs no accounts or devices. A full answer key and a standards page listing the Common Core codes the prompts actually exercise are included, so planning and grading stay quick. Designed for grades 9-12, the prompts work as a daily opener, a spiral review before an AP or state exam, or a settle-in task while attendance is taken. The routine is the point: the same five-minute opener every day, so students settle without being asked twice. It prints cleanly in black and white, which keeps a full class set cheap to photocopy. Each page stands alone, so a substitute can hand out the week without any briefing. The answer key makes grading quick, whether you collect the pages or review them together as a class. It works in person, hybrid, or remote, and fits a homeschool schedule just as well as a full classroom.
