What's inside this resource
In this activity, students will color a friend (a boy or girl) and then pick 8 qualities of friendship they like in friends and glue them onto the page. Teaching tips & learning objectives
Learning objectives
Identify and select personally meaningful qualities of friendship from a provided word bank.
Articulate at least one quality of friendship not already listed by writing it into a blank square.
Teaching tips
Have students choose exactly eight of the 21 words, as the instructions specify, rather than gluing on every quality provided.
Use the finished pages as discussion starters, comparing which qualities different students chose and why.
Offer both the boy and girl figure so each student can pick the version that represents them.
Skills covered
Vocabulary-based self-reflection — students read 21 friendship-quality words and select the eight that matter most to them personally.
Fine motor practice — students color, cut, and glue small word squares onto a template page.
Original idea generation — blank squares invite students to name a quality of friendship not already provided.
Good to know
Questions teachers ask about this resource
Are the friendship-quality words limited to the 21 provided, or can students add their own?
Both — 21 words are ready to cut out, and blank squares on the same pages let a student write in a quality that isn't already listed.
